I'll have to take your word on that as I buy a season ticket. But **** me you whinge like a little girl. MTFU.
-
I must confess that I did as well.
-
Yup because I thought you were being a ****. A stupid **** at that. Oh Villa gone from a Cat A last season to a Cat C this season. Urrr. I'm really stoopid and don't realise that the last game of the season might have been the reason it was a Cat A.

Oh no. 2-3. Meltdown. Relegation. Panic. Panic.
-
Very pleased for him. I know it's a pre season friendly, but......
-
Saw who started the thread - remembered the pathetic whinge about ticket prices this season and last - dind't bother reading the crap that no doubt is in the OP judging by the response.
-
What I saw of him, I thought him competent if a little (understandably) rusty. Nothing suggested that he would be a calamity.
-
The other way of looking at it is that Toby didn't burn his bridges with us. Seems sensible to keep as many options open as possible. As I said WAY WAY back, I felt it was up to the player to choose and he did.

This is another thread presuming that the Club can make players stay and sign contracts. So we could have kept Clyne and Cork to their contracts and let them go for free, but I think we all agree it is wise to cash in. Toby was obviously not ours. Morgan - well we can make him stay as per the terms of his contract, where he will be possibly unhappy, but that would possibly/probably be detrimental and also "cashing" in now, should return a decent sum of money.

Schneiderlin Joins Manchester United (Official)
angelman replied to Bewildered's topic in The Saints
They want to pay about £20m - we want about £30m - so presume we'll meet somewhere in the middle. £20m + £5m add ons (reasonable targets only). -
He had a calmness about him that was out of the ordinary. He read the game well and cut out problems before they developed, probably why the calm aura was noticeable. He got caught out once or twice, but which defender doesn't? Only saw him play vs Wales and I would say that he wasn't brilliant then. As for the hamstrings.....he missed 5 or 6 games and that's all. I can't se why people think that they are dodgy, save for him being a Spurs player now.

**** me WC, your post is spookily similar to mine and I had to double take to make sure it wasn't a double post.
-
Did we go public or was it the press? Things have been going on for so long (of feel that way) and there have been so much bull written, that it's easy to forget.
-
As it is clear that you had no faith in the first place, there was nothing to dent and you're just posting bolhocks, which of course comes as a great surprise.

Good (I guess). Disappointing but we can move on.

I'm afraid to say that I wholly agree with this. I often say that while I love Saints, I hate football. The PL is having an ever larger divide between them and us, and those clubs in the "us" really have no chance of winning the league. If you can never win the league, nor what, finish top 4 for Champions League, what really is the point of taking part in the competition? Maybe that is why I look at the Toby non-signing much more pragmatically. Everyone keeps on saying that the PL is the best in the world - to me it's not. It might be better than the top leagues in other countries, who have an even more limited number of teams challenging for the top, but the Championship offers a better and more even competition.

Can you explain their mistake in full?
-
What happened? The player decided that his future would be better suited elsewhere. I think that's fairly obvious isn't it. The club might well have been hugely confident in signing him and made noises to that affect. They may well have taken the player's words as a sign that he was coming back here. But it's a dog eat dog world, and we got eaten by a bigger dog. Let me ask a question - if he were to sign for Chelsea, would you honestly think the same as you do now or would you think "oh well, it's Chelsea and we had no chance when they came up to the plate"?
-
Didums. Club says one thing (what they want/hope/expect to happen) and it doesn't come off. Wow.
-
That's the problem - you might get a couple of million for him, which might be viewed as not being worth getting rid of, if he can turn things around even at risk of him not renewing his contract if he does come good. I was one of those that said he needed time, but 2 years with us and 1 with Hull meaning 3 years into a 4 year deal, would suggest that he might not come good. I guess we'll see.

No. See post #2810 I think it fairly well known by all that we would try or actually match Spurs's offer. The agent could wait a little longer if he really wanted to come here. Everyone criticising the board have one thing in common - the inability to take into account what Toby wanted, but cling on to him saying that he would be happy to come back here. Amazing that people take players at their word. A bit naive isn't it?
