  1. He needs to justify his appearance fee so can say any old ****.

I'm not sure they did. More hope/d but it was fairly obvious that that wasn't going to happen.
  3. Thought that was Gosport News.
  4. I think you are mistaken and you go on to answer why and thus contradict what you stated.

I look at things more calmly than others. Unlike Shankly, i do not see football being more important than life or death. If he comes, he comes. If he goes, he goes, we get someone else in and move on. The main reason I want to sign him, even above his ability, is to **** off Spurs. But I realise where we are in the pecking order, and I realise where Spurs are. Unless football changes and the league becomes a level playing field, I really can't get over excited about the league. Don't get me wrong, I love Saints and love them to do well and very much enjoyed the last few seasons, but the way a handful of clubs can waltz in and steam roll us, rather shows that there is a problem. Sure that has always been the case, but it is getting ever more pronounced.
  6. What is so hard to understand? We are at our level. All this pushing on to the next level is complete nonsense unless the structure of the league changes or we start spending way beyond what is sustainable. With a change of league structure, it is one thing really - a wage cap, and one that is attainable for all or nearly all. Now can you ever see that happening? If you can't then we are the top of our level and there's not much point worrying about pushing on to the next level. People need to be a lot more pragmatic about the whole thing
  7. I'm going to start supporting Chelsea. Maybe Arsenal would be better because they have more Saints players, but then Chelsea have more of a chance of winning something.

Seems? How do you get to that? You, I and most others have no idea what has been going on behind closed doors.

To me it has got to the stage where the player should now decide. If he wants to play elsewhere then he should. If he is ambivalent then he should play elsewhere.

The euro was 11% stronger this time last year, €1.26 as opposed €1.40 and this can often lead to people upping prices (at least in my line of things)

My God, are people really getting confused about this? The transfer fee is but one factor. What is the signing on fee and wage that Spurs and Saints are offering? In all this it is being portrayed that Toby wants to come here rather than Spurs, but if the offer is the same to AM from both clubs, then it is down to Toby to decide. Making platitudes towards us is very easy, and can be very hollow.

Agree. While Toby is a known quantity, I'm sure that there are others out there that have been identified as being potentially being able to do the same.
  13. I have a bad gut feeling. Had too much to drink last night and the ruby from Friday still seems to be lurking.

I'm not talking about the transfer fee as that is but one part of things.

I suspect that we will be out bid by Spurs. They seem happy enough to over spend while we aren't quite so happy to do so. So be it. **** happens.

.Lifted from a Spurs fan on Twitter. Anyone catch this on Sky? If true' date=' go Ronnie![/quote'] Wasn't this last year's telephone call?
  18. I think that there was no loan fee to Juve, but they paid his entire wage for the duration and had the option to buy. I believe there was no fee for Inter either, although that might have changed when we returned Taider. No idea about the Boca deal, but they were stretched financially with his wages in the first place but believe we refused to pay and he took a wage cut as well. So we have the initial fee. Lowest I have seen is £11.2m - highest something like £15.6m - so take your pick. 6 Months wages. Pay off for his last 2 years. I would imagine that the pay off was less than he wanted and more than we wanted, but possibly he could have been sacked for his attack on Fonte. However with so much time passing not sure how that would stand, but it was clear he couldn't come back. So hopefully all parties were pragmatic about it. So it could be £11.2m (being optimistic) + £1.25m for 6 months + £2.5m for a years pay off for the 2 year contract. Of course this is just wild conjecture but could be closer to £15m than £25m. Still, hugely expensive mistake. The ****ing ****.

Would be interesting to see a table of journo's and how often their story is accurate.
  20. All of them are equally bad.
  21. They seem to be a little divided. Some say absolutely not, some say worth a risk (and that Pards might be able to tame him). Surely at some stage, he will have to realise that he has no more bridges to burn so will knuckle down - or maybe he just doesn't give a flying...

Oh dear! http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/588529/Morgan-Schneiderlin-Man-Utd-Arsenal-Spurs-Wimbledon-Jo-Wilfried-Tsonga-Transfer-News Are the press really that short of news that they have to continue writing utter rubbish. Bloke goes to watch the premier Grand Slam tennis event so let's spin out a story.

Someone wrote an article way back, that despite their recent success, AM couldn't really afford the wages and that is their biggest problem.
