  1. Rather than a new thread............Jonathan Pearce is probably the best so far (even dragging along Keown). What I really hate is when commentators feel they have to say something rather than have a quiet period. When that happens, invariably they speak complete bullocks. Pearce tends to speak a lot lot less bullocks than most.
  2. Is nepotism good?
  3. He isn't good is he. He's never scored in the w/c and think that this is something like his 10th game. He did do a good cross for our goal, but..... Overall, I am bored watching us. I want to be entertained, and this just doesn't do it for me, unlike the Dutch last night.
  4. We're not very good. Same old same old. I thought that this was an opportunity to be a little different, but same old boring **** that we always get. We may get the occasional win and draw, but we are boring.
  5. FFS stop being sensible.
  6. I tend to get the feeling that there are many clubs's supporters who look at us, look at the chance of the team being dismantled and really seeing that football is all about the have and have nots, with the haves being limited to about 6 clubs. With my rose tinted glasses on, I get the feeling that many supporters were/are desperate that someone break into the top positions to break up the immutable situation that we seemingly have now as well as to give hope to other clubs. But, without wanting to be too pessimistic, that isn't going to happen, although it will be interesting to see what happens with the new manager. I can't work out whether the press are approaching us with alot of schadenfreude or whether they have aligned themselves with the big clubs and treat us with a little disdain. Certainly at the beginning of the season when we were as high as 3rd, the press couldn't praise us enough for being in the mix, but that soon enough was replaced by dismantling the team. Maybe they feel that if they write articles that are helpful for the big clubs that they will be thrown a bone once in a while.
  7. Can someone explain how this works. Transfer request gets submitted - I am presuming the club can reject it and hold the player to what he is contracted to? The papers seem to give the impression that once a transfer request has been submitted, then that's it and the player is off.
  8. Those fans don't happen to support someone like PSV or maybe Ajax? Despite his past at those clubs, he would be considered to be the ex-manager of Feyenoord given that that was his last job.
  9. The other thing that must be taken into account is his (whoever he may be) record with signings. With potentially £100m (depending who goes, and if it all gets given to him) you'd want to make pretty damn sure who you appoint.
  10. 1/10 is the lowest I can see, most are 1/5. So that looks like that's that then.
  11. Admin/mods Can you put an ITK rating next to certain posters, as I am finding it hard who is talking complete and utter bull**** and who might know what's what. As that is the case, I treat everything as bull****, except Guan.
  12. When all gets a bit bed wetty here, I do find bashing one out the best thing to do. Or go and cut the grass. I've interrupted grass cutting to see if anything exciting has happened - guess I should have bashed one out instead.
  13. I presume that that zebra looking thing is called Zizou. I have a theory. Zizou has 4 kids in the Real academy. Maybe the departures from our academy were part of the deal!! Maybe they weren't. But it's Friday and I am happy posting bullocks as that means I don't have to go and cut the grass.
  14. I was thinking a while back.....how many players over the years, have left Saints and gone on to be a real success elsewhere? In recent times, Bale obviously is the main one. Shearer did. Ox can be considered to be a success. Theo....hmmm, probably but only just.
  15. NO, it's just some (so called) supporters who are thinking that way.
  16. If Pelle is going to Leicester or rather, they are sniffing around him, it sort of suggests that Koeman isn't coming.
  17. So you are ITK from a very good source, and you also vote for A N Other.....which means to me that it is going to be A N Other. Right, off to the bookies later to put a fiver on Zizou.
  18. I think that I might be in a minority of one who wouldn't be upset to see Bruce here. Not my first choice, that's Zidane, not my second choice of the Cowman, but if he is chosen by those that choose, then so be it. Not sure off the top of my head, that I would want any other British manager (including Moyes who I think really needs a bit of time off).
  19. I think it says that Southampton are stalling.
  20. Now you see old bean, if we hold his registration and he is contracted to us, we can set the value, not you northern tea leaves. That's business. If you "owned" him then you can set the value. But you don't, so you have to meet our valuation. We obviously rate him higher than you do
  21. Does that mean the Mrs will put out? Not sure when we will have time... 5pm Mexico vs Cameroon 8pm Spain vs Netherlands 11pm Chiles vs Australia I think she'll be asleep by the last game. I want to watch Spain/Holland, so it's either a quickie during half time or the first game (which is a bit early and the kids will be about).
  22. I think that, by the sounds of it, it is a little unfair to blame the club for this. He came out and stated he had a contract and didn't know what the fuss was about so didn't see the need to sign an extension. It's pretty obvious he didn't intend to, whatever the spurioous reasons (ie NC leaving) given. I renewed a long time ago and got a postcard yesterday from the club saying it was almost with me. I'm still going to support Saints and deciding to give up on them because there is no manager and one of our players has left to join Liverpool isn't really good enough reason. I am sure by the sound of it your criteria for continuing to support the team are different from mine. Oh I know more will most likely leave but so be it. Half of me actually wants all these players to go, even if it means we finish bottom half, then at least we can be left alone by the big clubs. The other half want KL to say sod it, lets pump big money in. newspapers need sensationalism as they do much better. Lallana and Lovren seem to have, and maybe Shaw. Agents do all sorts of things. Maybe Lovren is ****ed off at his agent, maybe he isn't. Whatever the case, he's got the biggest game of his life this evening so I think he has his mind on other things. I seem to recall recent post-season articles saying that Swansea were facing an exodus. Maybe they and us can hold hands while we spiral into oblivion.
  23. To me that is the pros and ex-pros admitting that the PL is such a **** and unlevel playing field. They then, once the team has been dissected, carry on raving about the wonderful players that have come from the academy but ignore the first team and go on about how it all went wrong with NC leaving (without focusing on why he left).
  24. Is the atmosphere around the club so disastrous? I think we were told it was JRod and some medical staff about, and that's it. So, it would seem that you might be being a little melodramatic.
  25. Aye. What happens if we play hard ball and refuse to let any players go. Do they put in a good shift or do they act like Kenwyne Jones?
