  1. Mail saying he is having a medical on Saturday before £4m move
  2. Anyone know how much a season ticket is at Bournemouth and whether I can get a refund on the one I have renewed for next season?
  3. Ah ****** - if people are going to use sarcasm can they make it clear? There are too many fruit loops here who talk utter ****** and are serious about it.
  4. Really? MP's first game at home, I thought Fellaini was the best player on the pitch. He's a good player.
  5. http://www.football.co.uk/southampton/re-united__moyes_and_fellaini_at_southampton_a_possibility_rss4730744.shtml It's the bit, and what RK mentioned as well, that concerns me a little: Shortly Southampton will anounce their shortlist and only then will we know if the fans welcome him with open arms after witnessing a season of dynamic and attacking football. Does this mean that we as fans are going to be officially gauged for our thoughts on potential new managers? While that is nice, not sure that that is the best or strongest way forward.
  6. Found this amusing-ish: http://www.football365.com/mediawatch/9330376/Mediawatch
  7. You can see why MP spoke through an interpreter. I have no doubt that the press used selective quotes to have a dig at us.
  8. Hodgson's contract ends 2016 and he is on record as wanting to see it out. I can't see him getting the boot for our WC performance to come, as there is near zero expectation.
  9. I think Zizou is a heart over head moment!! But, it has been reported that he wants to go into management to get experience before going back to Real and taking over there. He recently turned down Bordeaux http://www.cbc.ca/sports/soccer/zinedine-zidane-won-t-coach-bordeaux-after-talks-fall-through-1.2649720. One of the reasons given was that his two kids were in the academy at Real. I have no idea what Bordeaux's academy is like, but ours isn't too shabby.
  10. For me.... realistically - Koeman unrealistically - Zidane
  11. Ah OK. Hard to tell on here sometimes. (If sarcasm is used, I always find an exclamation mark useful)
  12. Where is the disaster? Serious question.
  13. LLP, you bring up Reed's wiki page and it shows him as being, amongst other roles, Technical Director at the FA (whatever that means). Does that count for nothing? As for the rest of his "CV", save for Charlton, I think it actually reads quite well. What exactly is your problem with his experience? That he hasn't been a manager for more than a short while and that when he was it was a disaster? You might not have noticed, but he isn't going (yet) for the manager's job.
  14. There's always one man who makes the decision. There are 20 beneath him doing the bulk of the work.
  15. Adrian, I agree that it is unlikely. He has the arrogance of a top manager and can pick and choose where he goes. Maybe CL footie is important. Maybe a bigger club than us is important. If he wants that, then he stays on the continent. If he wants PL, then I am not sure where he would go. If NUFC got rid of Pardew and ran the club properly, then they I guess are a sleeping giant. Villa - depends on the new owners. But does he want to spend a year or two or three building things up? And with Rafa, is he a coach or a manager?
  16. If this is true, then I would be most under whelmed. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2642252/Oscar-Garcia-faces-St-Marys-dilemma-Southampton-Spaniard-dreams-managing-Celtic.html
  17. Now that MP has gone, do you think Ashton will leave us the **** alone?
  18. I don't have a problem with his supposed obsessive control from a supporters perspective. As long as the results come and that there is a core of happy players, then isn't that OK? There are always going to be some who are on the fringes that are going to be upset. How many of us thought that the camaraderie was pretty exceptional? Ultimately, and as Franny said, if people don't want to be here, then they should move on manager and players (if their contract is paid off to an adequate amount). To be the best sportsman, I do think you have to have a certain arrogance about you or a supreme confidence in your own abilities. Maybe to be a top manager you have to have an obsessive control. What I didn't know, was the little trip to watch PSG. So those who blame the board, what do they think about that? Reading that article he comes across as being ambitious. Nothing wrong with that, and let's be honest, no one (or hardly anyone) shows any loyalty in football. That's what money does to people. You just have to remember not to **** on too many people on your way up, because you never know what might happen on your (more than likely) way down.
  19. What about Strachan who took us to 8th & the FA Cup Final in the same season? That to me is better than MP's achievements even though we got 4 more points this season.
  20. Alpine your posts are a little trite now.
  21. I agree. Am I right in understanding that RK said the 20 scouts who found MP are always looking for replacements, just for this sort of scenario. I imagine that all clubs do, and I would have been surprised if we hadn't been working at it for a fair while. A lot of posters here seem to think that the board are incapable of running the club just because we cannot ultimately compete with the lure of the top 7 clubs.
  22. Yup - all of them have gone.
  23. Balls. What's the point in partaking in the league if you are happy to be mid-table, which you seem to be?
  24. I think that's good. Look for opportunity in adversity. The other think he hasn't done, is thank MP and his staff.
  25. Personally thought that the SSN clip was absolutely fine. It covered the point that I was wondering about - who brought MP here - and he said the same 20 who found him (and he was right in thinking that we were saying "Who?") are still in place.
