What else are we supposed to talk about? Those inane HCDAJFU posts?

This, well at least in my optimistic view of things.

Depends what Spurs want: 1) Attractive football - should be able to deliver that 2) Top 4 - not next season and probably not consistently The radio (Durham and Holland) have been spouting forth and that some/a lot of Spuds would be happy with attractive football even if they lost 4-3. Not sure that's right. Result first otherwise all the pretty football in the world doesn't really count for anything. Can't see Levy being happy finishing 6th again, and if Utd pull up their socks, then they could finish 7th. And what I would love, as would everyone else, is for us to finish above them. I doubt that will happen, but who knows?

He has the lovely Europa League to help him this forthcoming season. Problem with Spurs is that their expectations are way too high. They expect to be top 4 regulars. Well so do Man U, Man C, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool. 6 into 4 doesn't go. They think that they are big, but they don't seem to realise that they are victims of the Premier League and the hierarchy that has been established. They aren't at the top, and won't be for the foreseeable future. Their best bet would be for Mansour and Abramovich to get bored of their toys and jack it all in.

I've got my rose tinted glasses on...... Saints have played a blinder. Management decided that MP wasn't the best, lined up another manager while letting MP leave and paying us compensation to do so. Only problem is if the squad goes as well!! Rose tinted glasses off.
-
Good - let's just get it done. Still, I recall this bit: "I don't think it will be a fight, I have one more year left on my contract. The decision will be made by the club, when the club has to make that decision. I don't really know why there needs to be this massive effort." Arsehole.

A whole bunch of sh1t supporters?

Maybe it was a case of him not going for Spuds. At some stage, surely they will find it hard to employ a manager, unless they offer exceedingly good severance packages. Apparently MP's target for next season has been set as Top 4. Never have I wished for the established pecking order to be so immutable. I love Saints, just hate football.

As I have said many times before, football is a business and you do need to keep some sort of eye on your customers. What happens if (and I am not saying that this is going to happen) you **** off a lot of them and they decide not to come. Say crowds are down on average by 5000, is it worth risking those many millions for the sake of a statement?

Looking at the history of Yakin, his odds have halved since yesterday and almost a third what they were day before yesterday.

Ah Bexy, I feel like you, but then I was born down here and prefer it here. Even my Mrs, after initially missing the hustle and bustle, now concedes she wouldn't go back. For players, who are younger than me, I guess there is an attraction, much in the same way that I liked it when I was younger. Now I avoid it like the plague and only go up when I have to. And let's face it, if you want the action, living in say Basingstoke area, you can get to where things are happening just as quickly as if you were in Herts - and let's not forget, these guys are more than able to afford a driver for the evening.
-
I agree, but I wouldn't particularly single out this red top from any of the others. However, this is different from all of the other stories as it is the only one printed showing the club to be proactive.
-
Having lived in London for the best part of 20 years, I am well aware what it is like. And you may well live in Heartfordshire [sic] but that ain't near where the action happens in London.

Is loyalty mutually inclusive or exclusive to bank balance?
-
So is this ******? http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/476362/EXCLUSIVE-Break-the-bank-Southampton-s-6m-to-keep-Pochettino Nicer location?? Have you ever been to N17 and the area north of London (or for that matter London itself)?

Not sure about the NC bit, but the rest is more than believable. I did write some time back about NC replacing Levy - could he (with ENIC's structuring)? Would he? Not sure any Spurs fan would object to that.
-
Load of guff really. Football fans are the most fickle of people, and they might think MP is the girl next door now, but that will soon change if things don't go as well as they could. Personally, if he goes, I hope he loses the first 10 games and gets sacked, but because I am fickle, if for some reason he is still in charge here next season, then I will of course think otherwise (although whether I would now welcome him back or not....!).
-
True - when he arrived it was case of who is he, and what was wrong with NA. But not wanting him to go? I am in two minds. On the one I want him to stay for the sake of harmony and continuity. But on the other, I don't want him here as it appears that he has become bigger than the club.
-
Don't want to be pedantic, but to me, finishing 8th and being runners up in the FA Cup beats last season, even if we had 4 less points.
-
The bookies are going to be a little ****ed off as they have him at 1/10

Petrescu has been in the frame for a very long time.

I don't understand why everyone gets on their high horses about illegal approaches. There are so many ways of doing it, that it's not really worth having the rules in place. The news leaked into the papers before the season had even finished and hasn't gone away since then. No approach illegal or otherwise was particularly needed. If he goes, he goes and best move on. I just hope the board have someone already lined up seeing as these stories have been in the public domain for the best part of 2 months (is it?) now.
-
Why not wait and see who the replacement is and what he is given?
-
Wonder if Joe Lewis would or could replace Levy with Cortese!!
