It's colder now than it was in 2005 (or 1998 for that matter). The Met Office has different figures.

For one: http://www.nasa.gov/topics/earth/features/upsDownsGlobalWarming.html It is almost impossible to get a true picture because the interpretation will depend on the religious fervour of the protagonist. The Met Office has been taken over: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1240082/It-gigantic-supercomputer-1-500-staff-170m-year-budget-So-does-Met-Office-wrong.html http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1235126/What-told-Global-Warming--missing-facts.html http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1091655/Climate-change-forecasters-know-global-warming-affect-world-physicist-claims.html

You must be paying extra for your petrol and how about all the levies on energy supplies? Then there is air passenger duty....
-
Exactly. Both statements come from the same sort of sources. It is all open to interpretation. Maybe the world has not got any warmer?
-
A change in the weather doen't mean a change in the climate. However, there has been no global warming for 11 years now. They can't even explain El Niño so how anyone can predict what's happening I'll never know.

Still less than an inch in Chandlers Ford and even that's melting. It seems that conditions are very localised.
-
Still only a dusting in Chandlers Ford, about an inch of wet snow. I'm at the dentist tomorrow morning for a bridge preparation but I'd rather be driving to the office.

My second-in command's brother has just bought Svensson's wife's Saab because they're moving back to Sweden so confirmation of what we thought.

What is it with these people? A couple of inches of snow and they all decide that they'd better get out and walk. Modern cars all tend to be FWD so that makes it all easier. I remember driving round North London in the sixties in my dad's Ford Anglia 100E. Now that was a real challenge. Anything up to 6 or 8 inches of packed snow is no trouble on most of our roads. The odd hill can be a problem but as long as you get a run at it and ease off the power then it's a doddle. These kids today have never seen a real winter. Ice is different though, and that's what we're going to get on Friday and Saturday with daytime temperatures not getting above 0ºC.

I would say that the closure of the Kingsland and others accounted for a couple of thousand lost sales. It would be an easy task for the TO to determine how many of the ST holders bought tickets for this game.
-
www.viamichelin.com, actually... From experience I would say 3 hours from Exeter and 2 from Luton.

I lost Sky a few years ago in a snowstorm so I fitted a 1.8m dish instead. It's much better now!

I came along Hamble Lane at 17:15 and it was very slow but moving. It all seemed to be because of very slow traffic going down the A27 towards Bursledon. I've just had a look at the TrafficEngland website at the M27 and it seems to get very slow from junction 8 eastwards.

It's only a recent addition.
-
Er, Exeter - Southampton 114 miles. Luton - Southampton 96 miles?
-
Very wet in Chandlers Ford at 21:30 with just a soggy inch laying on the top of the slush. I don't mind driving in it, providing I'm the only person on the road.

Perhaps now he won't try so hard and will be a better player because of it.

Virtually the same thing happened to us with Delgado. We'll know in a few minutes. I suppose I can wait.

We've discussed this in several other threads. Half of the stadium was closed and some blocks were not opened until 2 days before the match so a large number of season ticket holders were not able to buy their normal seats for this game and made other plans. Add to this the ticketing system problems on the 31st December and 1st January, which was also a Bank Holiday, and it is no surprise that the attendance was much reduced. I think this accounts for several thousand no-shows. It's no suprise really - if you close half the stadium you'll get a smaller crowd.

True, but even he's not in the same class as Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the greatest that Portsmouth ever produced.
