  1. He may be a footballer but he's not daft enough to say 'last year's'.
  2. BT's goal at dellhurst park is a special memory.
  3. It's a pity that there isn't any phots of the reaction of the Norwich players when they missed their last penalty. Some were hopping up and down with clenched fists in frustration.
  4. I've looked at it again and paused the highlights and he does not leave his line until the ball is kicked. There was one instance where he definitely got it wrong. In the first half Norwich took a quick free-kick and Rickie intercepted but was not 10 yards away so the ref stopped play and had a word with Rickie. According to the Laws of the Game: 'If a player decides to take a free kick quickly and an opponent who is less than 9.15 m from the ball intercepts it, the referee must allow play to continue.' So there!
  5. ... immediately followed by this: When competition rules require there to be a winning team after a match or home-and-away tie, the only permitted procedures for determining the winning team are those approved by the International F.A. Board, namely: • away goals rule • extra time • kicks from the penalty mark
  6. I just happened to be reading through the 'Laws of the Game' and I came across this definition. 'The team scoring the greater number of goals during a match is the winner. If both teams score an equal number of goals, or if no goals are scored, the match is drawn.'
  7. Don't all footballing debts have to be paid before the other creditors in order for the PL to allow exit from administration? So if you bought the debt for £1m you would probably go to the back of the queue.
  8. That's disappointing. I'm almost dead-centre at 0.25, -0.67 so down very slightly and not even right of centre. I found the answers a little limiting, either 'agree' or 'disagree', no 'whatever'.
  9. Like us MK Dons seem to prefer Tuesdays for their home fixtures so unless TV steps in I would expect Tuesday 19th. Can't you buy here a ticket as a present?
  10. I think I must be somewhere off the grid at the bottom right.
  11. That is brilliant work and the photographer should be proud of them, although how anybody can concentrate on the players when the shootouts going on I don't know. I like the one of papa's second. The looks of horror on the Norwich players' faces! I don't know how Papa can hit the ball, his eyes are looking elsewhere.
  12. Yes, quite possible.
  13. The match is over when the final whistle blows. All the rest is for statisticians to argue over.
  14. If Luton force a replay (could happen) then 12th / 13th could also be needed.
  15. Don't laugh but I went there straight from Hamble intending to buy a pie inside the ground. I need a pee so I thought I'd better do that first and wash my hands rather than carry the pie into the gents. I came out just in time to see the shutters coming down.
  16. Holt is a big softy. What did Antonio do, elbow him in the knees?
  17. I thought Holt was offside at the time but the highlights are not so conclusive. What I did notice was James standing between two of their players with his hand in the air and then trying to get back to cover the goal. If he'd done that to start with he might have blocked the shot.
  18. I know I'm classier but I'm not so sure about you
  19. Once bitten, twice shy...
  20. Away goals ? Extra time? Penalties?
  21. Er, that's why the shareholders invest in the company. Without them then the company could not sustain any losses. What does BA do? Fly people around from place to place? NO - it makes money and it does it by flying people around. That's capitalism for you.
  22. Spot on. 'Serious foul play' or 'violent conduct' plus the other, more technical offences. Cynical 'professional' fouls should be a red card in my book.
  23. Took his penalty calmly and fooled me, I thought he would blast it. He looked a lot leaner and fitter to me and well up for it.
  24. Papa. Latched onto a loose ball about 4 yards out after a bit of head-tennis. He was much better tonight, disciplined and not offside once. Good positioning for his first goal and a well-timed run. He's obviously been reading us!
