  1. Someone you want to bed? When I was at university it was someone who made your bed.
  2. “my family” means “me”
  3. Some of the other ex-professionals were brilliant. I didn’t know at the start but when I saw one of the centre halves drill a sixty yard pass out to the left winger I knew something strange was going on. That ball went straight as an arrow never more than a couple of feet above the ground. I game him a quizzical look and he just grinned. I think he used to be a centre half for Plymouth.
  4. I think Stephens would be a better choice.
  5. Lucky guess 😋
  6. I think Aa will stay as onfield captain. The reason that Stephens took over on Saturday was that Adam was substituted.
  7. Indeed there is. It’s part of the same reason that we got relegated.
  8. One of the last games that I refereed was a cup game at Hamble. The home team contained a lot of former professionals most of whom were no bother at all at carried on playing because they loved the game. One midfielder however was an annoying little something whom they asked me to sign on before kickoff. I recognised his name* as soon as I saw it. He had played for Villa and Portsmouth and had loan spells at Bournemouth and Swansea so I looked forward to see him running midfield. The reality was totally different. He was constantly trying little niggly things hoping I didn’t spot them, and spent the whole game carping and moaning. Near the end of the game his side were 6-0 up and I had to award them an obvious penalty. Up steps the man himself to take it and tries a Panenka. The goalkeeper just stood in the middle of his goal and waited for the ball to drop into his arms. It would have taken a heart of stone not to laugh 😂 *name supplied on request by P.M.
  9. I still have my concerns over Bednarek and have mentioned this before. That said, I still have my concerns over Stephens 😵‍💫
  10. It’s about more than just getting some money from his sale. It would free up his wages which must be considerable for this league.
  11. I’ve always fancied the idea of solar power but at my age it would never recover its cost.
  12. It's a matter of respect and being magnanimous in victory.
  13. The impression I get is that they're enjoying their football.
  14. I like his physicality.
  15. We lost to both Ipswich and Leicester which explains a lot of the gap between us and them.
  16. Interesting, thanks. I can’t disagree with anything he said.
  17. He learnt that whilst playing for us 😀
  18. Absolutely no. Self-indulgent.
  19. You should be all right then but they will degrade. 25 years would take me to well over 99 years old. I won’t last that long.
  20. At the last home game I looked at my watch after forty minutes and it said ten minutes gone.
  21. Not me sir. I’ve always thought he looked like proper footballer.
  22. I suspect those figures are optimistic. We’re they premium panels?
  23. Added to that he ignores his winger and sits in midfield bang on the centre line. The opposition has all the time in the world to get the ball out wide and out in a measured cross.
  24. I have a season ticket so I shall of course be going. I have a pile of unfinished Sudoku puzzles that, if I’m lucky, might last most of the match.
  25. At my age solar power is never going to recover its cost. Since my wife died I have decided that comfort is more important to me than money and I have my central heating on all the time.
