  1. That’s what naff music can do to you.
  2. And Perraud might have made it three.
  3. Or dies
  4. Let’s hope his medical is one pass that he completes.
  5. But we all know how much more difficult it is to play against 10 men.
  6. Watching their goal on the highlights this morning I was surprised to see how many players were blocking Bazunu’s line of sight and in particular a QPR player who is well offside and directly in line with this view. Baz is left if centre but had to lean his head to the right to try and get a sight of the ball. That is as clear a case of interfering as you could wish to see. The problem is that the official on the line is in the best place to judge offside but the worst place to judge interference of the goalkeeper’s view. That should be the referee’s job.
  7. Creeping? Rather hard to ignore.
  8. Yep. Keep the goals, kill the music.
  9. He had stopped play and was about to issue a yellow card so he was entitled to call it back. Most people in the stadium knew that it was a waste of a run. Whether the ref should have anticipated and allowed for a free kick is a different question. Many will let the teams know their methods before kick off, something like “Quick free kicks are fine by me but if you bugger it up you’re on your own”.
  10. Once again, noise doesn’t create an atmosphere.
  11. I was just wondering. Who owns the copyright on his mugshot?
  12. You have answered your own question.
  13. It’s naff. It’s American. I don’t mind its use in ice hockey but only because I never watch it.
  14. Here’s some bedtime reading for you since you seem to like this sort of thing. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/world-cup-pointless-statistics-3factor/?trk=pulse-article_more-articles_related-content-card https://footyamigo.com/shots-on-target-stats/ Remember, these figures only exist to satisfy the betting markets most of which is in the Far East. They are not intended to be used as a tool to analyse player performances. ”Bazunu is shit” was not true today, nor last week, nor in any other games that he has played this season. You would need to come up with better evidence than “it’s just my opinion “.
  15. My thoughts, Both debutants had good games and looked a class above most of the others on the pitch. Charles took to the role of Centre Back as though he had always played there. Bednarek looked a much better player after Stephens had to go off. Alcaraz has looked a bit out of salts lately. Manning needs to learn how to use his right foot. At present he only uses it to stand on and he’s not very good at that. When Adam Armstrong took his goal he was playing in a different time dimension to everybody else. He was on Fast Forward. Edozie finally got the goal that his trickery deserved. When oh when are we going to hang onto a lead for more than just a couple of minutes? It’s a strange feeling to be at home celebrating after a home win. I could get used to it.
  16. His only Premier League goal was in the 3-1 defeat of Fulham. 15-May-2021 https://www.premierleague.com/match/59254 And yes, good luck to him
  17. His first game for us. Give it time
  18. Do your pockets have holes in the bottom so you can slip your hands through and reach parts that might otherwise be inaccessible?
  19. How long do we have to wait?
  20. He was also the official on VAR who thought that Bertrand had committed serious foul play against Leicester when nobody at the stadium or on the pitch thought he had.
  21. Mug shot mugs for mugs.
  22. Doesn’t Bednarek’s count?
  23. Football is the only real sport. The others are mere pastimes. I don’t see the need for technology in any of it.
  24. It’s the rough edges that give the game its character and charm. Football and cricket are fundamentally different. Cricket is sporadic but when I watch a game of football I like to get engrossed in it, to follow the ebb and flow, to marvel at the complex interplay between one team and the other, to see everything that is going on in the peripheries. Modern TV coverage doesn’t allow me to do this with its endless meaningless replays, usually whilst the ball is in play. With its regular shots of the managers or the crowd, endless analysis o& why somebody fell over, criticism of the referee from commentators who don’t even have a modest understanding of the Laws. I get more enjoyment from watching a game in my local park.
  25. What’s ‘tennis’?
