I had a ticket for Norwich away and I had just bought my train trickets when all football was stopped on the day before because of Covid lockdown. Perhaps I shall be able to go this time. Ipswich is also a possibility. My old man used to go and watch them when Alf Ramsey was in charge and we lived near Harwich. Another Chris Marsden goal would be very welcome.

Interesting that you should ask that. The first was down to him in a large part because he rolled the ball out to Lavia who was facing our goal and was about to be hounded by any one of several Liverpool players. McCarthy waves at him to put the ball out towards our right back which he duly does but was completely unaware of how much pressure he was under. He should never have been put in that situation. McCarthy never leaves his goal post even when he can see that it’s all gone Pete Tong.

I was referring to the “no keeper in the world could have stopped them” bit. but I agree with you, as with Bazunu not every goal is stoppable.
-
My grandson reckoned that it all went pear-shaped when Lavia went off and we lost our balance.
-
The Forster of today is not the same Forster of a few years ago.
-
We can’t rely on just the one first team keeper.
-
Not strictly true is it?
-
That would have been left to the referee since it happened some way before the goal and the goal scorer didn’t benefit himself directly from it. I’d like to see more consistency over handball myself.

All 30,000 of them?

The vast majority of fans that go to home games don’t go to away games. Anyone who goes to an away game is supporting that home club financially.

Steve Parish today in The Sunday Times, “Bouncing straight back up to the Premier League after going down is much rarer than people think. The average finishing position of a relegated club in year one is about eighth in the Championship and in year two it’s closer to 11th. For Crystal Palace, historically it has taken an average of ten years to return to the top flight following the drop. Asked last week if managerial changes are about avoiding the drop, I answered that it’s about avoiding even being involved in the relegation fight — because if you’re in the mix in the last three games, at that point, injuries, red cards, refereeing decisions and luck can play a huge part.“

"get it forward"

Yeah, there's shit and there's absolute shit.
-
You do know that the club makes no money out of away games?
-
The one where he punched the ball into the net?
-
They are a complete irrelevance for the home supporters. You know, the ones whose money actually goes towards our club.
-
And this season we comfortably beat Man City at home and did the double over Chelsea and held Arsenal to a draw twice. Yet it’s been a shit season. They were both shit. But in different ways.
-
Both seasons were crap. If all you care about is points then why do you ever pay to swatch a game. Assuming that you do. Why not just look up the result later?
-
Oh do shut up about finishing 8th. If you were impressed by that I’ve got a couple of bridges to sell you. That season was crap. So was this. What’s wrong with wanting to be entertained? I am being asked to pay a small fortune to watch shit dry. Puel was no different.
-
It’s the cautious pedestrian style that has got us to this state.
-
More meaningless statistics. Football isn’t played on spreadsheets.
-
I agree. It’s hardly the best advertisement for selling season tickets.
-
Perhaps they should come over one at a time so we can show them our appreciation individually. What a pantomime that would be. There again, the whole season has been one big pantomime.

Will season ticket prices be released now and will you renew?
Whitey Grandad replied to Paul Chuckle's topic in The Saints
Only a £20 reduction for my ‘loyalty’. A bit of a slap in the face really. I am seriously considering only going to the matches that I can attend. I’m sure that seats will be available. -

That’s only if you can guarantee going to every game.
