  1. We had a perfectly good goal disallowed. The referee at the time was happy with it.
  2. Was it a “clear and obvious error” ? Of course it f*cking wasn’t.
  3. Eh? 😵‍💫
  4. Caught offside once. Apart from that ?
  5. According to the referee we committed 19 fouls. Villa only committed 9. We got nothing, they got everything. Very one-sided and I’m normally supportive of referees.
  6. The kids of today have it easy when it come to listening to music. Not for them the trauma of a Sunday evening after your weekly bath time struggling to listen to Radio Luxembourg through the static and fade outs. We’d save up our pocket money to be able to buy 45 rpm single of your favourite group for six shillings and eightpence. The record shops had booths so you could give the latest single a listen before buying it. Great to hear that your youngsters are listening to music. Better than staring at a video game for hours.
  7. Hope for the best, fear for the worst. The way of life for every Saints fan.
  8. I can ever relax until we’re 4-0 up and in the fifth minute of injury time. Even then…
  9. Sadly these rock icons of our early years are leaving the stage one by one. But they leave us with such wonderful memories. It makes you wonder what the kids of today are going to reminisce about in 60 years time.
  10. Has everybody been on the booze tonight?
  11. Winchelsea
  12. “I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.” Bit late now, of course, but welcome.
  13. That’s capitalism for you 😵‍💫
  14. Toxophily (my eyesight is not what it used to be)
  15. Fiona Walker, née Butler. One for the grannyphiles, Fill your boots (or anything else that comes to hand
  16. He sounds like Jack and the Beanstalk.
  17. Ah, thanks. I looked it up some time ago and think it has now been scrapped. No training at all. I did take the controls once for a transfer from Padborg and did a landing approach right up to the touchdown. The aircraft had been sitting on the apron overnight and it was a very grey, craggy day and Jens said that the autopilot always played up under those conditions. It wasn’t too difficult, just keep the altitude within tight limits and keep the heading steady on that green marker. Jens was upside down with his legs over the back of his seat and my business partner who was sitting behind tapped me on the shoulder and said “Who’s flying the plane?” I just smiled and said, “I am”, at which he nodded somewhat nervously. He later said that this was the only time that he had been scared of flying. We suddenly flew into clear air somewhere over northern Germany. An incredible sight with a vertical bank of solid cloud behind us and a carpet down below. Apparently we had just flown out of a weather front. Jens later sold his electronic display business and owns and operates Air Alsie. He is still based at Sønderborg airport. His mother (!) Monika is a stewardess in his corporate jets.
  18. I’ve been to Newcastle on the supporters’ coach a couple of times for evening games some twenty years ago. They used to reckon on six hours of driving. Coming back wasn’t too bad if you could get some sleep. On most occasions I got dropped back at my car well before 03:00
  19. There is a Christian Alder who plays in Germany. Good in the BOX ASHley Williams Alex Elder Danny Rose Rob Hawthorne commentates these days Terry PaINE. Not as poplar as he used to be.
  20. We did have Perry Groves at one time.
  21. It was a long time ago. I was young…
  22. I think they said it was a Piper 320. The registration was OYBTC if that helps. It was a six seater. Coming back from Sønderborg once there was a problem with the autopilot and I flew it through the cloud on instruments for an hour or so whilst our colleague, the pilot was upside down under the dashboard trying to fix it.
  23. Paul Birch Jacob Louis Hazel Chris Beech
  24. Reminds me of the times that I used to get flown to Denmark and back in a single engined Piper 320. That was six hours no toilet 😵‍💫
  25. I agree with you, but Bertrand was in an offsite position when Gabbiadini ‘scored’ that infamous goal of his.
