Indeed, there are all sorts of opinions. I would just like to point out that we lost that final 3-2 so to argue that we would have won it with VAR is stretching things a bit. Also we should remember that for every VAR decision that went in our favour there could have been some that went against. Let's not forget also that our European campaign was a dismal flop.

When I was a kid growing up at Dovercourt when there was a storm I used to love going and sitting behind the wall on the promenade whilst the waves were breaking over the top of it.

I think one of the main arguments is that it frees up capacity on the existing lines. Why it doesn’t call at Heathrow is completely beyond me.

Not to like? Because it could very well be money down the drain. Wouldn’t it be better to improve other transport infrastructure more widely? South Hampshire is crying out for a tram system and what ever happened to our south coast motorway all the way to Dover? No, the Tories are only interested in buying votes up North.
