I agree that such deliberate kicks should warrant a red card but a writer in The Times a few weeks ago (referring to the Arsenal player whose red was rescinded?) pointed out that the FA guidelines do not allow for it. He too thought that such actions should get a red card. The sooner such petulant kicks are eliminated the better.

Another poster on here pointed out that we seem to suffer a lot of deflected shots. Could it be that our general lack of fitness means that our players aren’t getting out quickly enough to block the shots?
