Yeah, but they knew nothing else. They all lived in one room. According to family legend her dad, my great-grandad, jumped in the canal to save somebody and caught pneumonia and died but when I dug out the records he had liver cancer anyway at the age if 35. Her mum couldn't cope and she and her little brother ended up in a Barnados home and eventually she was brought up by travelling relatives. The east end of London was not a nice place at the time but she described to me working around the open countryside in Hackney and such places. She paid a shilling a week to learn how to read and write.

My nan was 3 years old and living in Whitechapel at the time. She never said anything about it

It's usually the sound you notice first, there's no other like it.

On the field the captain has full control but you'd expect the team manager to have sorted this sort of thing out before the game.

It might have been one from Goodood: http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/showthread.php?20002-SPITFIRE-OVER-OSLO And this might have had something to do with it: http://gramsluftfartsblogg.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/spit-pa-kjeller.html?m=1 Either way it was a lovely surprise b I'm horrified to hear about the Hurricane. If it was a sculpture by Canova there'd be a public appeal.

I'll do my bit. I shall be away so I won't have to watch it

We are in Oslo today and walking back from the Fram museum this afternoon I thought I heard a Merlin approaching from the east so I turned round to see a Spitfire passing overhead. It's amazing where you find them

It never confused me.

That's right, he's number 2 because Forster is the better keeper, but Boruc is being well-paid to be available if needed and if he's not prepared to accept that somebody else might actually be the better choice then he'll have to find a number 1 spot at another club, if anybody will have him.

Price mark-up on furniture is %100. It's expensive to sell because of the retail space it needs.

Talking Tactics: Koeman gives Saints fans reasons to be cheerful
Whitey Grandad replied to pap's topic in The Saints
You can only judge by the league you're in. We can second in the league on a couple of occasions, and didn't we also finish fairly high under Strachan? -
'Hasn't had a chance'? He won't get one either until he knuckles down and gets on with his job.

The net amount available to spend us a bit reduced on that. There are 10% agents' fees on top of the purchases and no matter how hard the club tries I would expect some Corporation Tax to be liable because they won't be able to hide all the profits.

How many more are big enough to apologise?
Whitey Grandad replied to corsacar saint's topic in The Saints
To those who wish to apologise, that's very magnanimous of you, you have my respect for what little it's worth. To those who feel that they have no need to apologise, that's fine by me too, but please bear it in mind as you get older and hopefully wiser that things aren't always what they seem at first. -
None of it of any importance.

We're in North Denmark for a few days break. I like international weeks because it gives me a chance to get away without missing any home games

At the moment it feels like mine

Gaston Ramiez to Hull on Season Long Loan - Official
Whitey Grandad replied to NorthamSteve's topic in The Saints
Four years from deadline day August 2012, so one more year when he returns next summer -
As I've posted before, I think there are obscure accountancy reasons for preferring loans to outright purchase, it's a bit like buying your car on a lease instead of paying cash.
-
I never though I'd see the day when we were throwing these sorts of figures around. Don't forget that the buying club usually pays the agent's fees too so you can add another 10% to these buying costs.

Too soon to tell. We've chucked in our stack of cards and had a re-deal. Let's see if this lot turns out better. I have a sneaky feeling that the shake up is what the club needed but I expect a few more ups and downs before we get a settled team. Please to see that we haven't lost any more regulars (apparently) but a little disappointed with the loss of Gastón. It'll be interesting to see how he does for Hull.

Did we pinch him fromSpuds? http://metro.co.uk/2014/09/01/tottenham-set-to-sign-sadio-mane-as-agent-arrives-in-england-ahead-of-11-8m-transfer-4852728/

So then, how is the asset stripping going then lads..?

Gloating is so undignified, I'd rather we didn't. Unless your name's Gloatboy of course.
