  1. Wasn't it water-carrier or something like that? Maybe hod-carrier: http://www.theguardian.com/football/2006/aug/19/sport.comment2
  2. Might be worth a punt if he's cheap. Bit of a show pony but I'm sure that can be drilled out of him.
  3. Er... hello? I have said this before more than once. He (Shaw) has great promise but a lot to learn.
  4. 'When I use a word, it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.' Humpty-Dumpty
  5. The Daily Mail is having a big campaign against this sort of thing at the moment.
  6. Nice! It made be chuckle. 'They can't pass medicals if you break their legs', brilliant!
  7. Thank you sir, much appreciated.
  8. His value would already have been written down by then. Players' values are written down over the length of their contracts which is why their is usually a loan fee to cover the reduction in their value during the period of the loan.
  9. You already write off their wages anyway. Unless you have capitalised their contracts, i.e. given them a value in your books, then there would be no advantage.
  10. I reckon there's a tax reason to do with capital purchases. The loan fees can be offset directly against profits.
  11. Very good, I love it. How did he do his knee, by the way, one too many Cruyff turns?
  12. Hi Phil, good to hear from you. Do you really expect us to believe that you took your Mrs to Thailand, to Bangkok? Love the badge, where can I buy one?
  13. Patience, Timothy, patience!
  14. Was it 'an amazing journey #saintsfc DESTROYED in 1 hour'?
  15. There may be significant tax reasons for delaying the new contracts, something to do with revaluing the assets.
  16. I already think he's better.
  17. Please tell us about these koffers. How have they been doing over the last few years, up or down? Even then, it's none of our business, quite literally.
  18. I think I prefer our manager to have a big ego, it worked for Clough, Mourinho...
  19. What, are the chairs broken already??? Has that Fatty Shaw been sitting on them?
  20. Loans are better than signings for tax purposes (I would think). A loan fee for a season and wages etc come straight off the profits but a signing goes onto the capital account.
  21. You left out P..mouth
  22. Les Glace is obviously the name of the ice cream seller. Please keep up. In fact, the van is probably selling hot dogs which would explain the disappointed customer.
  23. Who does he play for???
  24. I might have, my memory's not what it was.
  25. Short term fixes for temporary stabilisation. They're quick to arrange, too.
