  1. It may be seen as a popular move but nothing but harm can come from it.
  2. And Puncheon?
  3. It's a very interesting question though, and rather pleasant to see mathematics being discussed in such a civilised manner.
  4. But the teams can be in any order so there are 64 positions that any team can be placed so it is 1/63.
  5. That is sooooo last century. I'm surprised you don't also hate the romans for invading in 43, or the vikings after 700. Or the saxons in the 5th century. I bet you're actually part saxon - go on, admit you're actually german! And where would we have been without Blücher at Waterloo?
  6. I like both, even though they are so very different. Vive la différence! Es lebe der Unterschied!
  7. I think that quite true. If you ask them what they think of the British they say "troublemakers".
  8. Irresponsible lending or irresponsible borrowing, who you blame depends on your perspective.
  9. Suits me. Everywhere I go I see thing are run better than they are here.
  10. But only if they had not already been drawn. After that the odds are pretty sh!t.
  11. In my view that counts as insolvent.
  12. ??? If you were trading solvently then why did you crash? Why didn't you pay HMRC anything?
  13. It's a combination (I think). There are 64 opportunities for your event (32 home, 32 away) so it's 4032/64 which = 63
  14. Looks like a bloke with long hair to me.
  15. Some of us did that in our heads
  16. I wasn't saying that I agree with it, but the ECHR would still be there because 'we' signed up to it.
  17. Let's not confuse the European Union with European Law. If we left the Union we would still be subject to many European Laws.
  18. Isn't that just for the first tie drawn? If so, shouldn't it be half of that?
  19. Man City have got to play somebody, and there are 63 possibilities for the other team, each with an equal probability of being chosen. (If not the draw would be biased).
  20. There are 32 games and team A could be any one of those. The team A could be either Man C or Man U so that doubles the chances so divide your figure by 64
  21. That would suit me.
  22. I make it 1 in 63. All outcomes are equally probable. As far as Man City (for example) are concerned there are 63 other teams they could meet, all equally likely. I'm still thinking about it.
  23. The away team doesn't get any of the gate money in a league game. All we could do is take the tickets from them and then deduct the £35k from any money that is taken from our fans in payment for them.
  24. They won't be British jobs, I'm afraid.
  25. I think your ancestors probably did. Britain has changed beyond all recognition and our descendants will be living in a country that neither of us would recognise.
