I was discussing this once with Ivan Golac. He said that he liked to leave three players upfield when defending corners. That way, the opposition had to keep four players back to mark them.

Barnard's was in front of goal, their's was to the left. There was a very slight deflection, but it was a big gap and I suspect that Kelvin, like me, thought that he would go for a cross-shot.

I agree with you. He didn't keep blowing for niggling trifles and let the game flow whenever possible. The MK Dons' players were sitting on the grass whinging for the first fifteen minutes. I also timed it at just over 5 minutes extra time.

The actual wording is 'nearer to the opponents' goal line than both the ball and the second-last opponent', so he was in an offside position, but not committing an offence because the ball was not played or touched by a member of his own team. I was behind the goal and saw the flag go up straight away, so I wasn't too bothered at the time.
