Another great win by Huddersfield yesterday (Leeds only 3 from 3). Warrington and Wigan going great guns. Wasn't surprised that Hull suffered a heavy defeat at the DW. Looking forward to the Bradford game on Saturday, when they should get back to winning ways. My step-son is the Mascot, so we should get freebie seats by the tunnel.

No! He said in his interview that he doesn't take over until April (at the earliest).

The Lodge is fine for the slightly older, more mature of the apprentices (second/third year scholars) but for the 15/16 year olds, who are away from their families for the first time, it's much better to put them into a surrogate family environment.

Well done Herbie. I see Beckford was L1 player of the year. Obviously if they had seen him Saturday, they would have torn up his nomination.

Agree with that. Was amazed that Hammond got away without a second yellow, although I'd given up trying to second guess the ref at that point. Gradel should have been been given a straight red only seconds after he had come on.

If Jaidi and Fonte can keep Paynter and Austin as quiet as they did Beckford and Becchio, Saints should win comfortably.

The answer to the OP question is easy. "Can we make the Play-offs?" Yes, of course we can. The question should be "Do you think we'll make the Play-offs?" The answer to that IMO is no, we'll fall around 5 points short.

SMS is an adequate stadium. It seem that for Markus and Nicola adequate is not good enough and I for one would say Amen to that.

Some of our days start a damn sight earlier (8.30 yesterday) and end with being stuck on the Avenue for nearly an hour. But if you're alright then it seems the likes of Delldays and myself have lost the argument.

There's out of town and out of town. Somewhere near where the current park and rides off Bursledon Road, Botley Road, or around the VT Sports ground off Portsmouth Rd (Old Netley/Sholing) would be ideal and you would be able to build a 'Hollywood Bowl' a multi-screen, several bars, restaurants and get a decent sized car-park, for the big events which could also continue to hold the carboot sale (with land rent going to the club) and non-match-day park and ride for town.
-
But that's the point, is it? In cost terms, maybe but in terms of future revenue streams and cost effectiveness? Probably not and that would be the decisive reason for starting from scratch.

Gave a really good interview on Talk Sport yesterday.

They are but both Liverpool and Everton are looking to move to new larger stadia with greater peripheral facilities. Most sports stadia are pretty much white elephants (for want of a better expression) because they get used once every other week for a 40 week period. To make them worthwhile ventures, they need to be used for other events most days throughout the whole year. St Mary's, although it can be extended to a capacity of circa 48,000, because of its position has very little potential for peripheral extension and would become just a larger white elephant.

I think the second half was fairly scrappy as Leeds tightened up the midfield. The referee didn't help the flow of the game either. That said we were still very much the better team and Jaidi and Fonte made Becchio and Beckford very ordinary indeed.
-
Now you know why he now refs League 1 and not the Prem.
-
He was shocking and we went with a Leeds supporter, who agreed that the guy was an absolute clown.
-
Don't worry, I'm sure LLS will be part of the construction consultation team.
-
Does that include his image rights and bonuses?

Who would rent the other 90%?

I think it's Pardew and the player's job to concentrate on the football side. Cortese is looking at the bigger picture and planning 5, 10, maybe 15 years down the road. This IMO is bloody good news because it means that the current ownership are in for the long haul.
-
A Conference Centre maybe and I dare say they want somewhere with loads of parking, which can also be used as a park and ride/market etc. like the Madejski, which gives extra revenue streams outside of matchdays.
-
Lol! I suspect it was in answer to a question about whether we were looking into expanding the stadium once we returned to the Premier League and I don't really think he would have said once we get there, we will abandon St Mary's and build a new stadium. However if the requirement is there, we will look at the most cost affective way of of increasing the capacity and that would not rule out moving to a larger stadium.

I think we might have to wait 24 hrs to find out more. solentsport #Saintsfc chairman Nicola Cortese gives BBC Solent some interesting answers to listeners' questions. Hear the results tomorrow from 2pm.

Maybe they think it will be better value for money to redesign from scratch? Can't think where they would look into building it though.

Plus it puts Saints fans up above Carlisle fans in the lower tiers, which is probably not allowed under their safety certificate.
