Went out in Southsea recently, and was in Little Johnny somethings and got talking to a Pompey fan in there. As a proud Saints fan I introduced myself as one, and we had a real good chat there. He said he hates Saints, but would never let it spill into anything more than banter (although he did say that was cos I was quite a bit bigger than him!). But we had a good chat about our teams, the problems with admin, Al Faraj and Al Fahim and that lot, and we just spoke about it all in good taste and good banter. At the end of it all, I hate Pompey, and I love our rivalry, but it is of no fault of anyones who we grow up supporting. We are all football fans in the end.

Danny Mills is a rare commodity, an intelligent footballer. He may have been contraversial on the field, but he's a very intense and educated man off of it. also famopusly once said that he hated football, and only played it as a job.

Really disappointed I couldn't make it up there this year, but hopefully with 2 games next year I can make one of them. Hoping for Colts v Texans so I can wear my Manning jersey...

Whatever happened to Stanley?? Trying to think of who I enjoyed on Saints Forever... Nexus? Jonah? Barcelona Saint?

I care too, because it besmirches the name of one of my heroes, and not to me, because I don't care, but others. If people ask who my hero is, and I say MLT, they could then reply "oh, the cheat", because they're influenced by this top 10.

Agreed, the council helped out big time! I think the point is that it did happen under Lowes tenure. But so did relegation. You can't give him credit for one and not for the other.

Yeah, and I don't disagree with that. What Risdale did was immeasurably worse than what Lowe did. With Risdale, he knew there was a chance that the debts could cripple and destroy the club. By Lowe not spending he was under the belief that we were good enough (incorrectly) without the extra players, but no-one believed that relegation would destroy the club. That happened with Wilde.

Risdale is not hated because he took Leeds down, he was hated for crippling the club with unsustainable debts, whereas, as you allude to, Lowe didn't. That was the point.
