  1. That's JB's first yellow of the season? That surprises me.
  2. Worked an absolute treat! 😂
  3. Yeah, like an undulating hum. It's quite annoying.
  4. I wonder if Emirates fly there?
  5. Why on earth did they sign Cedric if he can't even get in the starting lineup when their 1st choice RB is unavailable? Have they cottoned on to how bad he actually is?
  6. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2020/aug/08/brexit-backers-tate-lyle-set-to-gain-73m-from-end-of-eu-trade-tariffs Brexit backers and Tory donors Tate & Lyle in line to be the sole beneficiaries of rule changes on importing raw cane sugar post-Brexit, and will save £73m. And I'm sure it's just pure coincidence that David Davis used to work for them.
  7. Ralph has gone a lot greyer in those two years. Although I suspect much of that happened on a certain Friday evening in October last year!
  8. Because Billic wasn't actually doing too bad a job with what is arguably the weakest squad in the PL this season (a creditable draw at City last night), and Allardyce is never a good long-term option.
  9. So it looks like WBA have panicked and pressed the Big Sam button.
  10. Prefer Liverpool to lose. The only way we could go top is if they draw and we beat Arsenal by 8 goals. Not happening. A Spurs win means a win for us by any margin would put us above Liverpool. Of the two teams, they are the one I would most like us to be above.
  11. He was the host of a reality TV show where his catchphrase was literally "You're fired" FFS.
  12. I remember a thread similar to this in 2014/15. A few people were getting carried away and suggesting we could be in a title fight, and some more realistic posters were adamant we wouldn't keep up the pace. The latter were proved right. Is it different this time round? The biggest difference I see is that none of the usual big 6 looks dominant and they are all dropping points where they shouldn't be. From our perspective though, we have pretty much the same squad limitations as we had 6 years ago. We have a good first 11 who can compete against most teams, but we are only a couple of injuries away from it all going horribly wrong.
  13. West Brom must be well and truly dreadful if they are resorting to bringing on Charlie Austin as an outlet when they're under the cosh. He was a spent force at PL level 3 years ago, and he's so immobile he can't even get out of his own half when his team are attacking!
  14. And then then he doesn't book Neto for simulation, after reversing the penalty decision because VAR showed it was a blatant dive. Bizarre.
  15. Can someone please explain to me how Podence deserved a booking for that? Chilwell was timewasting, wouldn't give him the ball, and appeared to put his hand to his throat from the replay. That's ridiculous.
  16. Are we allowed to claim that this game is 2 of our European chasing rivals currently taking points off each other? Or is that getting a bit ahead of ourselves?
  17. I watched the highlights of their game against Burnley, and they actually created some decent chances and forced a few good saves from Pope. I'd like to think they won't get anything like the time and space around our box that Burnley gave them, but they are not as laughably bad as many are suggesting. Will be a difficult game for sure.
  18. Looking good against Gillingham is one thing, but producing regularly in the PL is completely different. If he came back now he would be 5th choice competing for the two AM positions. Probably wouldn't even make the bench most weeks. Time to let him go and build a career as a first team player, as his ability deserves.
  19. That's it then. California has just formally given its 55 votes to Biden, taking him to 302. Will be very interesting to see what Donny's next move will be.
  20. Don't think so as the game isn't being shown on Sky.
  21. Well that was short-lived. He's back to spreading the same baseless drivel on Twitter again. Is it today that the electoral college vote to finalise everything?
  22. It's a weird one alright. I struggle to think of any games for us where he really shone. No lack of effort, and he was very good at winning the ball back, but he never managed to do anything with it once he had because his passing was always so poor. I was very happy to see him go for the fee we got for him.
  23. Perhaps because, this faux pas aside (which he acknowledged and joked about), he's clearly more intelligent than your average ex-player, is usually very knowledgeable and insightful, and is actually one of the better pundits around these days. But yeah, if it makes you happy then you keep telling yourself he's only there because of some leftie, liberal 'woke' agenda, you monumental bellend.
  24. If Cedric starts for them, at least we know we won't have to worry about any attacking threat from their RB position. Means we will be able to commit Bertrand forward more. And any FKs we get anywhere near the box, we'll just instruct JWP to aim them at him and get JV to mark him.
  25. I'd rather they hadn't lost tonight TBH. No matter how bad they are right now, I can't see them losing at home twice in one week.
