  2. That question really rests on whether or not he has earned one. He was once a decent cricket player, and has been a bit of an obnoxious, outspoken bell end ever since. So, in my opinion, he hasn't.
  3. In fairness, the keeper was well off his line and with VAR it would have been retaken. But as someone already pointed out, Kane puts them at a height that gives keepers a chance. At the other end, their player put his at a similar height, Pickford went the right way and got two hands to it but still couldn't keep it out. If he had cheated and stepped off his line like their keeper did then he probably would have saved it.
  4. I would add Alex-Arnold to that as well. His marking was utter dogsh*t tonight. Made their attack look much better than it actually is.
  5. When you use the word 'endure' to describe life as an EU citizen, you make it sound like it has been a massive hardship. Yet our membership has been overwhelmingly beneficial in just about all areas of life. Our economy has benefited hugely from being part of the trading bloc. Our natural environment has been protected by EU directives that you can bet your life successive Tory governments would have ripped up if they could have. Our society has been enhanced by things like workers rights which we now take for granted. So when you choose words like 'endure' to describe all that, you are making a ridiculous over-exaggeration which completely misrepresents the reality of the situation. Therefore, 'alarmist' is an accurate way of describing your choice of language.
  6. And you accuse remainers of using alarmist phraseology? You make it sound like the EU is some kind of brutal, oppressive, occupying force which has enslaved the British people FFS.
  7. It was Everton... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjkR91QEjFg
  8. Yeah the Dev Cat has been refurbished in recent years and the bar relocated to the middle, which means they just don't have the space to stock as many different beers as they used to. Still very good though. Can't go wrong with the Tap or the Rutland (they do great food - known locally as the 'Rutty butty'). If you're looking for good beer selection, try one of the True North owned pubs - The Forum, Old House and Common Room, all on Division Street, or The Broadfield on Abbeydale Road if you don't fancy the city centre. The Riverside, near Kelham Island, also has an excellent range. Nearer to the ground is the Cremorne on London Road. Smallish place and not a huge range of beer, but always some good options on tap. The Beer Engine, at the bottom end of London road, has a great range of beers but it's very close to Bramall Lane and I'm not sure about their policy on away fans. We're spoilt up here really. There's so many excellent local breweries around.
  9. Just found out yesterday from a friend who volunteers there, Heeley City Farm is having a mini beer festival on Saturday, starting at 5pm. It's a very short walk from the ground, and the beer festivals in the past have been a great success, offering a really good range of beers from Sheffield's vast array of local breweries.
  10. I rest my case m'lud. MPs who are actually showing some backbone and trying to protect the country against the most disastrous form of Brexit being enacted by a bumbling idiot and his team of shady, unaccountable 'advisors' are, in your mind, out of touch extremists who need to be purged for the good of the party. Your choice of language is very telling.
  11. It wasn't that long ago that you were decrying Johnson as a pinko. Now you're his chief cheerleader on here because you think he will purge the party of all other pinkos. All because you think he's the one most likely to deliver on your no-deal Brexit fantasy. Despite the fact that I strongly disagree with you on just about everything politically, I actually used to have some degree of respect for you. But recently you've just gone full Trump, and appear to be lapping up any old boll*cks that the Brexit extremists spout. To the point that you think it's a good thing the Tory party is lurching even further to the right and eliminating its more moderate element. It's quite obviously not going to work out well for you or your beloved party, and it's pitiful really.
  12. Rudi Skacel... Has he signed yet?
  13. When you start comparing Johnson to Brown, you are reinforcing my point for me. He was hopelessly out of his depth too.
  14. You just have to look at BoJo's body language though. He doesn't have a clue how to deal with such a situation and looks like he is desperately waiting for someone to rescue him. He's hopelessly out of his depth.
  15. His first proper outing onto the streets since he became PM, and he just looks utterly lost and unable to counter any of the guy's points, or deal with the situation in any kind of competent manner. It's a total embarrassment and shows just how useless he is when he has no script to read from or his usual loveable buffoon act won't work. That's the point I was making.
  16. I disagree with your top two. Bertrand at his best has performed much better for us than Shaw ever did IMO. And yeah, as per above post, why isn't Wayne Bridge - veteran of our 2003 FA cup finalists team included?
  17. Yep. Very statesmanlike. Already showing a magnificent air of authority and leadership, commanding the love and respect of his loyal subjects... https://twitter.com/bernardo_flynn/status/1169707508488900609
  18. There's a couple of multistory car parks on Eyre Street, on the other side of the roundabout at the top of Bramall Lane. If you're looking for free parking, then there's plenty in the residential roads on the other side of the A61. But it gets busy and the closer you get to KO the further away you'll have to go to find a space. Easy to get out of town and head south from here though. Just go through Chesterfield on the A61 and join the M1 at J29.
  19. Yep. Exactly this. If Cedric closes down James then Mata would be unlikely to score from there. He would more than likely put in a low cross, but Bednarek is well positioned to close him down and Danso and JV are tight enough to their attackers to stop them from scoring. And with Cedric tight to James then Mata can't lay it back to him. So I reassert what I said before - there were other team failings that led to the overload, but Cedric's backing off prevented us from snuffing out the threat. It's a regular aspect of his game that has cost us time and time again.
  20. Chatting to a Villa fan at work, he said they are just waiting for him to 'get up to speed'. They'll be waiting a while then. Pace was never one of his attributes.
  21. I disagree. The EFL cup final in 2017 was much bigger.
  22. Yep, we're not short of watering holes up here. Kelham Island has become hipster central in the last few years, so as well as the Kelham Tavern and the Fat Cat there's loads of little bars and eateries that have sprung up. If you like your real ale pubs then just up the hill from the Sheaf is the Brothers Arms, which is another favourite of mine. It used to be a proper dive and was boarded up for years, but the people running it now have turned it into one of the best pubs in the area.
  23. The Decathlon car park itself has massively reduced in size since a large sinkhole opened up in it a few years back and it's still all fenced off. The brownfield car park just near to it has now been partially developed on too (unsurprisingly) but I think there is still some P&D parking available there.
  24. No, sorry. It's a bit of a nightmare round our way on match days. Gets pretty gridlocked with people looking for unrestricted on-street parking. It is available around the Sheaf View, but you have to arrive early (at least 2-3 hours before KO) to get a space.
