Just watching the Sheff Weds v Brighton game (relevant to Saints because we could be playing one of them next season) and its an absolutely cracking match so far. Wednesday had the more possession and chances but Brighton hit the post from a corner.

SO this guy reckons that because Goodison Park was the first 3-tier stadium in Europe, it should make them more of a pull for a manager than Saints? Well if that is the criteria, I could argue then point that The Dell won national awards for its facilities when it was first opened. But I'm not going to do that because I'm not a deluded imbecile who is living in the past. In the here and now, Goodison Park is a crumbling sh*thole of a ground and an embarrassment to the PL frankly. And that sums up the whole situation in a nutshell. Once proud but now run down and dilapidated - a bit like the club themselves. And I thought we had some idiots in our fanbase - this guy wins the moron award hands down.

He cops a fair bit of flack on here, but I don't think anybody 'loathes' him. At the moment I see him as a very useful squad player with youth on his side and a good potential to improve, rather than a key part of our starting 11. Will he kick on and cement a starting place? Who knows, but I am very happy to have him as part of our squad, and this new deal is excellent news IMO.

There is another scenario with this that everybody seems to be overlooking. What if Koeman stays for the final year of his contract and works closely with the board to identify his successor, working directly with them all to provide some continuity? It's what Man U did with Fergie and Moyes. OK it didn't work out for them because, as it turned out, Moyes wasn't up to the job. But to me it seems the most effective way of dealing with the situation, rather than making a knee-jerk decision to remove the manager and starting from scratch again with a search for a new one.

We won't keep Wanyama if he won't sign the contract extension which, given his hissy fit last summer, it appears he won't. If a serious bid comes in for him this summer we will take it rather than let him enter the final year of his current deal. Ron will know this full well, so I very much doubt this will even enter his thinking regards his position with us or Everton.

Given Leicester's exploits this season, I seriously doubt the bookies will offer those kind of odds ever again.

With the new owners coming in, I reckon it's a dead cert that Martinez will be gone in the summer.

Best part of 30 years Yes of course I remember our struggles in the 90s, especially the great escape season in 98/99. But at least we had MLT during those years as a shining star amongst the dross. Sunderland are just dross, and their best player is, as it turns out, a paedophile.

So I finally got round to watching the new Star Wars film the other day, after a few people told me it was surprisingly good. I thought it was every bit as sh*te as I expected it to be when it was first announced. Full of tired old cliches, massive plot holes, far too 'safe' (as you would expect a Disney film to be) and essentially just exactly the same story as the first film.

You can add to that the high probability that Lamela will get a retrospective ban for his stamp on Fabregas as well.

In a market where Raheem Sterling is worth £50m, and considering the new TV deal starting this year which will inflate transfer fees even more, I wouldn't be at all surprised if somebody was willing to pay that much for him.
