It's just born out of frustration at the fact that we just can't seem to find the right attacking formula at the moment. 4 goals in our last 9 games (discounting the og against Burnley) is very, very poor form. Everton have been poor this season defensively, but we just didn't give them enough to think about on Saturday because our attacking play is too slow and predictable at the moment, with a lack of quality in delivery into the box and a lack of players making runs into it to get on the end of anything.
Our expectations were raised very high earlier in the season. We seemed to be scoring for fun up until December. Our defence is still doing its job, but as an attacking force we seem to have taken a massive step backwards.
We're football fans, and we're fickle. We need things to cheer about, and we haven't been getting that very much in recent weeks.
