  1. You know you're getting old when.... * You can't be bothered to even leave the house on New Years Eve, let alone go out with your mates * You find yourself looking forward to the afternoon play on R4 * You find yourself proclaiming that all modern music is rubbish and that today's young'uns don't realise how good it was 'back in your day' * You will quite happily buy new clothes from Sainsburys because you don't care how fashionable or cool you look any more I'm about to turn 37 and all of the above have become a part of my life
  2. I'm no legal eagle, but I imagine that if they can prove Mandaric paid him the amount in such a way that he knew full well the tax would not be paid on it, then he is also guilty of the charge of 'cheating the public revenue'.
  3. That's actually a very good point trousers. I think somebody should contact the FL and ask for clarification on this and if it turns out to be the case then they should receive an immediate 10-point deduction regardless of what other punishments may still be imposed for other financial irregularities.
  4. Would have taken a draw at half time, but given the frantic ending it's disappointing we couldn't find a winner. Still top two and still above Cardiff, West Ham getting tonked at Ipswich so not all bad really.
  5. wooooooot!!!!!!!!!
  6. OOooooh. close from Lallana!
  7. Come on Saints, if this doesn't help you get a late winner then I don't know what will...
  8. Dave thinks we are now looking the more dangerous team going forward. Don't know whether to take heart from that or accept that he's cursed it!
  9. Brum 4-1 up now
  10. errr, I hate to break this to you.....
  11. Why does the BBC live stats not count a penalty as a shot on target? Never understood that.
  12. Wonderful stuff!
  13. Ace. As soon as I start searching for some appropriate nun pictures, we get given a penalty!
  14. WHU 1-0 down already at Ipswich!!!!!
  15. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/16695931.stm Southampton * 01 Davis * 02 Richardson * 06 Fonte * 13 Fox * 16 Martin * 04 Schneiderlin * 08 Cork * 20 Lallana * 42 Puncheon * 07 Lambert * 22 Connolly Substitutes * 21 Bialkowski, * 03 Harding, * 14 Hammond, * 27 Falque, * 19 Lee Pretty strong team that I reckon
  16. Just seen this on Facebook...
  17. Meh, not a bad result considering we are still playing a patched-up team. For such a weakened defence to only concede one considering the pressure they were under is pretty good all in all. Could have done without it going to a replay in all honesty.
  18. Agreed. Nobody has really acquitted themselves this evening, with the one possible exception of Jos, but Guly has looked anything but a professional footballer. Absolutely dreadful control and just gives the ball away every time he gets near it. This is going to have to be one hell of a HT talk from NA to turn this around. Can't see us even scoring one, let alone two or three.
  19. Then you and I differ. Given what is out in the public domain about their inability to pay the HMRC and inability to survive without funding from the parent company, I simply cannot see any way that the FL can just sweep it under the carpet this time.
  20. I don't do brands. It's my belief that people who feel the need to spend more than is necessary on clothes with particular labels, because they think it makes them look cool, are fooling themselves more than anything. I buy whatever I feel comfortable wearing and, usually, whatever happens to be on special offer. Can't remember the last time I paid full retail price for an item of clothing. I also recommend people should watch John Pilger's documentary The New Rulers of the World - it might make you think twice about buying certain brands in future.
  21. Any excuse to post this again...
  22. My Girlfriend and me are going to Optimus Alive in Lisbon in July. The Stone Roses and Radiohead on the same ticket for £100 in the the sunshine was too tempting to turn down, especially as we were thinking of going to Portugal on holiday this summer anyway. On a side note, I notice the Big Chill has been canceled this year, ostensibly because it clashes with the Olympics but I wonder if there is more to it. Festival Republic's attempt to cash in on it last year by re-branding it as a commercial, teenage-friendly festival with Kanye West and Jessie J headlining backfired on them spectacularly when they didn't even sell half of their tickets. Serves them right for alienating all of its long-standing supporters and messing with something that used to be amazing.
  23. Not me personally, but my girlfriend is a direct descendant of James Watt's business partner Matthew Boulton.
