  1. I'm guessing it was when we beat Sunderland 8-0 - eleven years ago.
  2. 3-0. Lovely stuff. Is 9-0 too much to ask for?
  3. Yeah can't blame Leo for wanting to go for glory there. Would be less forgiving if we weren't 2-0 up against ten men though.
  4. Come on Saints. Put these fuckers to the sword.
  5. Will Still is an absolute fraud of a manager. And to think there were a few people who genuinely thought he just needed a bit more time and it would eventually click. The players always had these performances in them, but were being grossly mismanaged.
  6. No it was Arma.
  7. Boom. Last season I badly regretted not getting my insurance bet on when we went 2-0 up against them. Not this time.
  8. Yeah you don't need to tell us. Sadly we are all too familiar with his faults. Did he play for us in the 0-9 game?
  9. One of them is currently in the Championship, outside the playoff spots and and facing a points deduction. And if Burnley had just one more point then the other three would all be currently in the PL relegation spots. The odds on all three of them getting relegated are long, granted. But it's not out of the question by any means.
  10. Vestergaard guaranteed to be starting then. We must, must exploit that with some quick through-balls like we saw at Charlton. He's got the turning circle and acceleration of an oil tanker. Get Arma to come deep and draw him out and get Leo running past him, he won't stand a chance.
  11. Baz played under him too.
  12. You really think he will be with us until he's 31?
  13. With Manning unable to stop crosses, Stephens failing to mark players in the box and Baz in goal, it's a recipe for disaster. No clean sheet for us is probably the safest bet anyone could ever make.
  14. You're right about context. Those 12 games include the numerous times that Still inexplicably subbed him off when he was clearly the best player on the pitch. It's only in the last handful of games that he's really started to show just how good he is. And, as others have pointed out, the stats don't record him as providing the assist for AA's goal on Saturday, despite the fact that it was his run from inside his own half that created the chance. So those numbers really are meaningless. It's entirely conceivable that none of those 4 teams mentioned will even be in the PL next season. I guarantee you that when he leaves us, it won't be for another Championship club.
  15. I think you're doing him an injustice. At the rate he is currently progressing, I can see his next move being a much bigger club than any of these.
  16. Otherwise known as the Saganowski approach. Brilliant and unplayable while on loan, but fell to absolute shit the moment he signed a permanent contract.
  17. That's really positive. I was expecting him to be out for longer.
  18. Very impressive full debut from the lad. He seems untainted by Russball and the shit show of last season, so it's really encouraging to see him actually trying to get the ball forward instead of always looking for the safe, backwards or sideways pass.
  19. While I'm still far from convinced by Eckert, today's performance shows beyond any doubt just how utterly shit Will Still's management and coaching was. We looked like a proper team today, and what's even more telling is that the substitutions, unlike under Still, didn't completely wreck our shape and game plan and leave us fighting a desperate rearguard action. Just further evidence of terrible judgement on the part of Spors/SR for hiring him in the first place.
  20. He could, but I honestly don't think he will stick around long enough for that to happen. If he keeps up his current form we will be getting some serious bids in for him next summer (or possibly even in January), of the kind that would be very hard for SR to turn down.
  21. #accidentalpartridge
  22. The ref started pointing to the corner then changed his mind!
  23. Cov winning now.
