  1. I had heard this phrase thrown around a bit in the last few days, but only just got round to reading up on what it actually means and all I can say is... Wha da fuk?!
  2. http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D2/attend.html We have the highest attendance in the league by quite a bit this year(if you ignore the percentage of stadium full indicator).
  3. Still think that if something went wrong like someone went missing some hysterical parent could be all 'WHAT IF S/HE HAD A MOBILE?!'.
  4. You could say that about most things though! I understand what you are saying, but times have changed. There is now a culture that parents want their kids to have phones on them at all times so they are contactable.
  5. So no Mobile's at all?! What if it is just out at break or in the person's pocket? Still think it is a little bit harsh dragging the parents in when it isn't really their fault. And oh God, those dreadful useless behaviour and rights/respect/responsibility policies you had to sign.
  6. Not sure about having the parents come to collect them? Seems a bit much and could cause massive inconvenience for the parent for what is really not a major offence by itself. My school probably had about the right balance, if they were seen, most teachers would take them away and they would get sent to the place where they get sent in a paper bag and they would be kept there until the end of the day when you would have to collect it. Not all teachers did that. And I totally agree with you over if they aren't out and are just in the pocket, then there is no point pushing it as it just creates friction and unresponsive kids. I remember at my school when mobile phones were the new thing some teachers attempted to confiscate them during breaks! They were generally the miserable little ****s though who seemed to like being teachers for the little amount of power that it gives them. Edit: there was actually one time I was caught texting and the teacher tried to read my text, I just took the battery out and then gave it to her It was a horrendously boring lesson in my defence!
  7. I agree with you beancounter, when he gets in his stride he is surprisingly fast for a big guy. Jaidi has been very good for us this season. I know he sometimes isn't able to do every game when we have lots in quick succession(problem for this month?), but he never seems to miss a header... ever!
  8. Because it is relevant here. I love the BBC.
  9. Greater control and access to funds.
  10. Wow, Bournemouth will drop out of the playoffs if they aren't careful.
  11. Even if Posh resume as their normal self from tonight, doesn't matter as long as we do well as well.
  12. Well, I have some first hand experience with people who do this and I have to say a lot of it sounds like massive bull****e! It breaks stuff down to a level I do not like, but I guess it could work for some people who just needed an extra boost? But I'm never too sure about all this 'deep subconscious thought'.
  13. http://www.inspire360.co.uk/training Do you honestly believe anyone can in a week get to the level to become a 'practitioner'? Of course there are many courses for you to do, expensive courses to build up and up on top of each other. And then what can you do once you have these 'qualifications'? You have to teach others them... massive pyramid scheme!
  14. As in Neuro Linguistic Programming? A lot of it is a massive con.
  15. India along with China used to be the richest country in the world before us Europeans came along.
  16. Expect to see more and more sports taken away from the BBC and co as the BBC is bashed more and more by this tory government. When Sky merges with News Corporation, they will be unstoppable
  17. To be expected for a midweek league 1 game really.
  18. Ahahahaha, no one ever spotted me Though, with the advent of touch phones, it is much harder to text without looking, but now I am at college doing subjects that actually interest me I don't do it so much.
  19. If there is one thing being at school teaches you, it is to text without looking.
  20. You do know out of the 500,000 people marching in the actual event, only 2 were arrested? And as someone who was present at that march, I can tell you that the mix of people was far beyond the 'great unwashed' as you put it.
  21. Thought he played well yesterday. He has a lot of flair and is unpredictable and you need that in a player or two out of your team.
  22. Lambert is good at holding up the ball, but he just looks like he can not be bothered a lot of time. I do not like it, his body language is all wrong.
  23. This picture scares me.
  24. He isn't fast enough for the Championship in my opinion. He just doesn't quite have the skill to make it. I worry about Barnard as well at that level.
  25. That is a good point... not enough depth up front. One area where we are fine for this league, but if we were to get promoted would need to strengthen.
