  1. I don't know whether he'd want to come back, there is something about leaving a place to move on that can make you not want to return back because it feels like defeat.
  2. Red cards are a small part of it.
  3. To be honest, my talk of Europe has been coupled with the condition that we spend as at least as much as we have done this season as we did last season plus inflation with new premier money etc. I.e £50m.
  4. I do not think we will. But in fairness, it doesn't sound like Pochettino thinks so either. He was clearly asked a leading question, and he was obviously going to reply with something along the lines of we will always try to finish up as high as possible. I think it is possible, but we'd need to spend £40-£50m each season on new players for the next few seasons.
  5. Quite impressive record by us this season actually...
  6. Depends on how much the offer is and who to. I doubt the Liebherrs/Cortese would want to sell the company they have rebuilt to some person who would **** it up all over again.
  7. Not that I am being biased, but I would have thought Luke Shaw would have got into young player, or am I wearing rose-tinted glasses here...
  8. This is very true, all EU members are signed up to it(and rightly so). I think I did read something somewhere recently about plans for the EU to accede to the ECHR which would mean you could take the EU to the ECHR!
  9. Fulham are very close behind us though.
  10. http://www.spectator.co.uk/features/8807761/wind-farms-vs-wildlife/ Should put him the way of this article if he hasn't already seen it. Written by a very ecologically minded person, but one who is against the expansion of wind farms.
  11. I think it is a good stadium in terms of it functions well, and obviously has a high quality (for the 4 star rating). However, in terms of 'character', it is very much a flatpack stadium not too dissimilar to a lot of stadiums built around that time. If we could go again, I'd want a bit more individuality, but I suppose that costs.
  12. The Premier League have to be well behaved in the next few weeks though first!
  13. http://www.dailypost.co.uk/sport-news/wrexham-fc/2013/04/13/liverpool-fc-boss-brendan-rodgers-doesn-t-want-fair-play-euro-spot-55578-33163728/ Brendan Rodgers seems to indicate he might turn down fairplay Europa League spot, meaning it would go to us.
  14. Not too worrying. Norwich made £76m this year, and we are I suppose similar in size at a minimum as to them. With the increase in TV revenue adding at least £14m in revenue for each club next year, I think we can expect our turnover to increase to £100m or so over the next couple of years at least. The difference between the Championship and the Premier League really is astronomical. And we have no debt, which means we would be better able to survive any relegation.
  15. I don't understand what you mean. The ECHR is part of the Council of Europe. The EU's top court is the European Court of Justice.
  16. The ECHR is nothing to do with the EU.
  17. My feeling is that it will be homegrown. Al Qaeda have taken a large hit in the last decade, and similar groups are embroiled in the Arab Spring and so I don't think they will have the resources or the time to carry off something like this. And at the same time, it doesn't have to be extremist Islam based. Norway wasn't. Norway turned out to be an extreme right wing christian fundamentalist.
  18. Very nice. A blog is a good way to hone your writing ability. Keep it up.
  19. I expect if Mancini wants any chance of keeping his job, he will need to have both a strong finish to the season(i.e winning every game) plus the FA cup. Perhaps in terms of placing, they have 'nothing to play for', but Mancini has his job. Also, don't underestimate the winning desire of professional sportsman. You don't get to play for Man City by not being particularly bothered about winning (same for managers), and even Man City's second team would have a good shot at a top 4 finish in this league. I can't see anything but 100% effort from Man City, and most likely clinical wins.
  20. I really do want Chelsea to crash and burn, but obviously saints first and I really think we can get 8th place if we finish as strongly as we have been playing recently... so Chelsea, Man City and Man U. As you said, easy choices!
  21. If we want top 10 finish(which of course we do!), we have to win this.
  22. Woops, no fair play Europa League for us!
  23. We're doomed.
  24. Maybe Adkins wanted to stay in the south if his family are settled.
  25. In terms of loyalty, another Matt Le Tissier in the making. Not quite as talented mind, but still incredibly talented.
