  1. http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/matchday/fair-play.html ****ing Liverpool.
  2. Yes, that if is true, if you use an iPhone as a music device you do need to get a larger one. Which is why I got a 32GB version.
  3. I would recommend getting a nano if all you are interested in is music. Shuffle is a bit annoying without its display and the touch does a lot lot more than just music(and out of your price range). And if you get a touch, you might as well wait till your next smart phone and get an iPhone because the combined price isn't that much different to a touch plus another smartphone, but that's beside the point! Go nano.
  4. I think your description of modern day politicians is more than a bit hyperbolic. We are living in a different era to then though, our parties are much closer together and consensus(despite all the bluster) is common. Sticking to what you say is one good quality of a leader, but so is pragmatism. You need to sometimes be able to A. compromise and B. admit you are wrong before its too late. And might I suggest that it was Thatcher's lack of pragmatism that did it in for her in the end, but her relentless conviction that enabled her to smash the many steel reinforced glass ceilings on the way to the top.
  5. I think Cortese would want a lot chucked at that. Having a European adventure is what he wants and by doing it, we can establish ourselves. However, you also want to take one step at a time and we are still a developing team, so maybe we want to wait a year or two (if that really is where we are heading).
  6. That's very true. We'd have to do worse than 7 other teams. Still, it's possible, if unlikely given current form. I accept I may have been being a little bit pessimistic!
  7. I meant in terms of points from 18th! The more the better really, and 4 is a bit too close for comfort.
  8. If Wigan win later, back to square 1.
  9. I think we can do it, but there does seem to be a big gap in quality between the top 6 or so teams and everyone else. Still, we have good youth coming through and if we keep spending £30m or so each summer, who knows...
  10. In fairness to him on those games (particularly Chelsea), I don't think anyone could have expected us to win.
  11. Or maybe it's easier predicting for the bigger clubs as they tend to win all the time. Below the top 8, it's a bit more of a lottery and anything could happen and does.
  12. I disagree. Maybe in a generation or so, but China still has a lot of growing and developing to do that would be put at great risk if they intervened against a US-led invasion (especially if post missile hit on US territory). War is not in China's interests at the moment, it's busy taking over the world economically.
  13. As I think everyone expected for championship years. But the turnover leap in premiership is huge, so we should be fine next year or so.
  14. It's difficult to place me as I'm a student and so have no proper income! Though my parents would be established middle class. Ignoring income, I probably lean to technical middle class. I'm not really into enough 'highbrow' culture to count as established middle class. Very interesting stuff though. Personally I think as disposable income has increased, a person's 'position in society' has become more and more about how well they know the system and who they know and so on. Social capital is extremely useful in getting about day to day and it gives you status, influence and success/a leg up.
  15. But he doesn't play for a big team, meaning he has to have a 20+ season to get noticed imo!
  16. Not this year, maybe if he does 20+ goals next season... then he'd be hard to ignore.
  17. Don't understand. Martin O'Neill is a good manager with a proven record. Don't think they can get anyone better.
  18. Any war would be won by the South, obviously. But the consequences would be devastating for both sides, with thousands, if not hundreds of thousands dead and infrastructure flattened.
  19. I'd say it's 1 more relegation place up for grabs now, and about 6 or 7 teams in the running, depending on whether stoke win their game in hand in a minute. Surely we are better than at least one of those teams?!
  20. Imagine where we would be without the wins against Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City. 25 points, and down and out. Another incredible victory.
  21. Claridge giving us the credit we deserve.
  22. Would rather Norwich won. Keeps us comfortably away from the relegation zone if they do.
  23. Definitely, don't really care about final position. 17th and above is good, everything else is a bonus and the more points between us and 18th, the better.
  24. I suppose Europa League isn't out of the question by year 3. But it would take continued investment in players on the level of which we saw last summer. I think the next few years are going to show how much money the Liebherr's really put aside for us.
