  1. Update: Dickson did score but he apparently had a terrible game and was not at the races at all. Doble had little to impact on the game and was subbed after 60 minutes of the game. Best desribed as 'lightweight'!
  2. Whilst I agree Punch is being a bit of a bellend on twitter. We don't know the full facts, he is not the first person to aim criticism at Cortese and I suspect he won't be the last. Punch is wrong to criticise the whole club but we don;t know the whole story and its always ver easy to comment from the outside!
  3. Indeed will get some info on performance of both later
  4. He has also just scored!
  5. Good artlice. It just makes you realise the perals and the potential financial woes of football. Promotion really could be key this year financially. If we get it, let's hope we can find the balance of investing well enough to stay in the league without overspending! Still there are clubs in a lot worse position than ourselves!
  6. Personally Sordell. He doesn't appear to be commanding a massive transfer fee and is in with the England U21s. He looks atrong quick and a good eye for goal. I think we need to capitlise on our position and strengthen our players. However, I don't want us to spend silly money. We've done fine so far this season and we do need one or two bodies but lets be a bit careful with money. Look at Leicester, spent £14m and have had a crap season. Beckford hasn't really proved himself in this division as far as IO am concerend. Rhodes would for me, probably be too expensive judging by the fact Prem teams appear to be interested. Rodriguez same and Maynard injury prone it also appears.
  7. Great result shame didn't get to even listen to it. How did Lee Holmes play today? Great to see Morgan score. Happy to here Lallana getting better and he will obviously benefit from Connolly beng back in the team?
  8. I watched Dickson at today's match. He admitted his game v Sheff United was not his best in an interview. But today against Tranmere, he was superb. Started at LM, covered his LB well, got forward as was always a threat. Later in the second half he moved to left-back, he was also very good there. He was happy to take players on, show some skill and looked to give 100%. At the death, 5 mins into stoppage time, he kept going forward, and played in a cross where the winning goal was scored. Very effective today and a very very good player at that level. Will see where he goes from there.
  9. I like the Le Tiss tune one. Please not Lee will rock you it sounds dreadful
  10. Surely Holmes must get some minutes today? They seem to have a strong team out at least.
  11. For me it, it has always been the case at some point, our lack of squad strength in certain areas would catch up with us, the biggest suprise is that it has taken this long. I can't believe how well the season has gone so far and it has completely surpassed all my expctations. The difference was that last season when clubs suffered injuries and suspensions we were in a fantastic position to deal with it, quite simply there are many teams in the league below us who have stronger squads. Not to say our starting evleven plus a few haven't been excellent. However, I'm yet to be convinced that there will be huge sums of money available. Firtsly we spent an enourmous amount of money in League 1 on players who would not only cut it in that league but also the NPC. Secondly, there have been, admittly, unconfirmed rumours that the current owners want out. I think we need to take the opportunity to invst sensibly in the new players without killing ourselves. On the other hand, it is quite clear that the club must recoup some of the money spent in the previous year or two on transfer fees and new contracts handed out. Adkins errors will be exposed more in this division with a weaker squad at his disposal and agaisnt better sides. Howver, I don't think he makes many and have 100% confidence in him to get us promoted and continue to take the club forward. Hopefully more signings will give us a more effective Plan B, C, D etc. We're still in a fantastic position and as NA has said lets stay positive!
  12. The standard is very poor. Tbf you can get all of the highlights online now, and with the limited analysis of games, where no notes of tactics are mentioned the coverage is limited and restricted purley to highlights. Not bothered really. Hopefully we won;t have to worry about it next season
  13. I thought the atmosphere was a little disapointing today. Having said that I did find they wave **** take quite funny. And let us not forget their £123 prize.
  14. Not suprised Lallana has split opinion. At times he showed real glimpses of his quality, great ability to beat his man, great vision but one again his end product let him down. Having said that, he is slowly returning to the form he showed at the start of the season. He is our David Silva, when he plays well the team plays well and the opposite when he is les involved. MOTM? Would have to say Jos or Rickie. Thought Jos won almost everyhting, gave Kitson some proper hard challenges and displayed a real dominance and passion for the cause, was fantastic to see. Lambert was again outstanding I thought, great hold-up play and just wish we got the ball into the box more for him from out wide because he was always a threat and nobody could really deal with him. Another goal against the Skates I love this man. Richardson also had a very good game. Hammond very decent second half.
  15. Thought it worked really well. Stops the unwanted trouble gets the fans in and out quickly. Can't complain
  16. Just phoned the ticket office. They have now confirmed that TICKETS CAN BE COLLECTED ON SUNDAY MORNING FROM 9AM! Why they don't put a message on the website, or I was told differently yesterday I have no idea. Happy days!
  17. Whilst this is true, the news of getting a ticket game so late that I could not combine it with a trip to SMS, so actually the club can take some apportion of the blame.
  18. I phoned up the ticket office yesterday and asked if I could collect my Bus ticket on Sunday morning the answer was NO. Re-considering going now and maybe even selling ticket. Quite frankly the extra cost of driving down there in the week and has made the match unaffordable. Why are they making it so difficult for the fans for one of the biggest games of the season. WIll call again today and give any news that is of help to people.
  19. Yes got an email. Can I collect my bus ticket from the Stadium on Sunday morning, the email was far from clear on this?
  20. I prefer HArding. Fox is talented on the ball not doubt but whenever I watch Harding play it just seems like we have a better balance about ourselves in defence and helping to go forward. He seems to add a bit more aggression as well. Not the best left-back in the world but in the two seasons he has been with us he barely put a foot wrong i would suggest.
  21. Result not looking so bad now, Hammers two down, one man down and Cardif drawing..
  22. Seriously? Yeah come on Nigel do your job properly, its not like you have done anything like i don't know get us promoted first time of asking, give us a great start to the season in the Championship and maybe even have the bonus of being in the top two by xmas is it? And of course we have had no injury problems at all what with Lallana being 100% all season, Barny being out for half of a season oh and of course David Connolly. Do me a favour the man is doing his job just fine and deseres a bit of slack for christ sake. Bart, just like any outfield player, needs game time.
  23. The gap is exactly what appeared for their goal. The pressing game is fine but the defence must push-up as well, otehrwise we leave gaps, and the consequences are there to see. Still though, cracking game.
  24. Live online footy.com if you sign up is £6 for two months and great quality stream on all sky games
  25. Well if thats what it is then so be it! Let us not forget we spent huge money in League One and given all of the new contracts handed out in the summer I can't help but worry about our wages. Personally, as much as I want us to take advantage of our present league position, I don't want to see £3-4m spent on a player who has no track record of the Prem and even go down the same road as Leicester. Get some a decent loan or two in. At some point our spending will need to be curved.
