Thanks for all the info guys. Majorly leaning towards the BB Curve at the moment having read everyones comments and reading on the vodafone website (my currently supplier). The only "toy" type thing it needs to do is take decent photos, aside from that its 100% for business.

Within the next month I'm due an upgrade, or if I wait til May, I'm out of contract. Happy to switch provider, and as phone will mainly be for business use, I am trying to decide between blackberry and iPhone. Why those 2? They seem to have the widest support of additional applications. I can read reviews, but would rather have the opinion of those who use either every day. As a mac user now, perhaps the iPhone will be more appropriate to use in conjunction with my macbook, however, I equally think the blackberry looks tasty. Thoughts?

firstly, apologies, i wasnt aware the forum was down so early. Usually I get a text from one of the admins/mods but last night I didnt. As I've said, we're looking into it. As for the other messageboards, the format was the same (aside from arcade) on TSF and no one complained then. Also, how would you like us to moderate the Arcade???

We have more than 400 signed up (not LOADS more than that, but more). Traffic to the site has increased around 20% since xmas, so it's not dying by any means. Yes, we are aware that less will choose to subscribe again come August, hence rolling out the advertising (better late than never) and will step that up in future. The forum is not "unavailable during matches", it struggles towards then end (about last 10 mins) due to people constantly refreshing their page, this is something that can be solved by reconfiguring aspects of our server and something we are actively talking to our hosts about.

what model is the laptop? I have a compaq armada lappy that is about 10 years old that makes a perfectly good server...

possibly give you a few quid for the laptop. Dont worry, im not execting anything that useable, but could be used for a lower power consumption server in my garage! Whats the spec? and most importantly ram and hdd size? would need to be at least 256mb ram and 10gb hdd

We recently moved to a new host who also host another popular forum. Now that we have had our first server lag, we can approach them with our logs for them to advise. Not until we have had this problem, are we able to address it, so apologies for the slow server this evening, but now are able to go to our hosts and ask them to advise on webserver and database server settings.

What scummer said. Set yourself some criteria each TV must match. For me it was not just 1080p, but its SD image had to be good (since most of what you watch will be SD) and it had to have decent inbuilt speaker since we dont use surround sound.
