  1. Hull City Stoke City
  2. Chelsea Man City Man Utd Spurs Arsenal Liverpool Everton Swansea
  3. We have a good side, but I'm happy to accept that there are 8 or 9 better teams and that we are rarely going to pick up points in games like this
  4. Just not going to be our day, we won't score.
  5. No, just realistic. We aren't going to keep up our winning run and are due a defeat and a poor performance. I'm confident we can finish top half, but once again we are showing an inability to take points off of a bigger side
  6. Was pretty obvious we'd lose, just a case of keeping the score down now.
  7. Oh, just forum rumours as usual. Spurs don't look anything special on paper
  8. Now we're about to find out why we won't be able to challenge for a top 6/7 spot. Oh well, nice easy money on a Spurs win I guess.
  9. What does everyone expect him to say? 'Southampton are ubeaten except for the defeat at Liverpool where they deserved something from the game. They are genuine top 6 contenders based on recent form, and I'd expect them to brush aside a Spurs side without a league win since August 24th. Pelle has been in fine form for Saints, whilst Spurs are still lacking a regular goalscorer. Spurs 1-2 Saints'. We have no chance of winning sadly, due to the nature of football results. We are due a defeat and I will be having a nice lump on Spurs at 6/5.
  10. They are poor. If we lose to them, we will finish 9th at best.
  11. This is the biggest game of the season so far. If we can get a win then it sends out a message that we are serious top 6/7 contenders, plus a big message to MP about our ambition. A win would be too good to be true though. Spurs 2 Saints 1
  12. Here's some analysis. Koeman is a brilliant manager and a top bloke. Pochettino is a ****
  13. I ****ing hate these international breaks! Was better being in league 1.We've seen already this season how difficult it is to predict games. It's the next 3 fixtures that, for me, will determine whether we will have any chance of improving on last season's position and gaining european qualification. 3 fixtures we got 2 points from last season. 5 points would he the minimum requirement to stay in contention. We're more than capable of it, but football doesn't always work like that
  14. It was difficult to warm to him, and it always seemed clear he wasn't planning on sticking around for long. However, that probably doesn't warrant being sacked. It's all irrelevant anyway, really can't see him lasting at Spurs. He's not getting results in the league whilst continuing to disrespect all other competitions. A win on Sunday up there would be a massive, massive result in so many ways.
  15. Not getting carried away but looking at recent results and watching the two derby games today, are the top 6 that far ahead of us? For me, Chelsea will walk the league with Man City in 2nd. But are the likes of Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal that much better than us?
  16. Got to be patient. This was always going to be tricky
  17. Yes, let's worry about abusing him after his team have been shown up on the football pitch
  18. We still need that points swing over teams above us though. It would mean actually beating teams like Spurs as well as winning the majority of home games against the likes of Stoke and Sunderland. We failed to do any of this last season. I have a feeling Everton won't do as well, their defence has been suspect. The main issue for me is that the transition from being best of the rest to top 4-6 needs to happen quick. We'd need to keep Morgan, Clyne, J-Rod etc. and add quality over a couple of seasons. As I've said before, unlikely but not impossible. But we might as well enjoy it and dream about what might happen. It's very early days, let's stay grounded as a defeat tomorrow and all of a sudden things won't be so good
  19. We are on the verge, but then we were this time last season too. I think the real test now is whether we can win games against the top 6 or 7 sides, as our record against them last season was poor. Ultimately, we could end up hitting that glass ceiling again, would need to finish above say Everton and Spurs to try and break through it. Unlikely, but not impossible.
  20. Exactly, if we'd started poorly this season we might be wondering what if. We look a more exciting team now. Not trying to be critical, but the counter attacks are a lot quicker without having Rickie drifting in field. Now we have Pelle leading the line well with the others playing off him and it's working well. Our options are now better all over the pitch.
  21. At least he's achieved his dream of captaining his boyhood club on another magical Anfield night in the capital one cup.
  22. Looked solid last night, very comfortable on the ball and has a presence about him. Getting him and Toby in is a definite upgrade on Lovren and Jos as CB options.
  23. I'd start with Long and keep Mane on the bench. Gardos deserves to stay in the 11 ahead of Toby as well. Mane will certainly excite and make things happen for us, but will equally frustrate the fans. He ran himself into the ground last night so I'd save him for later in the game.
  24. Not surprising their record playing at SMS when we had the likes of Jermaine Wright and Darren Powell scoring the goals! Make no mistake, this will be one of our biggest tests. They're **** with an ageing defence but will look to make things difficult for us. Think Pelle will be the key man so we need a big performance from him. We need to be patient, but RoKo has shown his ability to change things. 1-0 Saints in a scrappy game
  25. What a game, strangely expected us to win. Regardless of who we might draw, we'll be more than a match for anyone. Koeman has showed he's taking it seriously, we really can go far in this competition
