  1. I had him down as more of a four-in-hand kind of guy, myself.
  2. Is he reading the complete anthology of North & South America?
  3. A gift to Bearsy from the people (me).
  4. So last night I took my lovely girlfriend to see this... http://www.broadway.com/shows/cuff-me-fifty-shades-grey-musical-parody/story/ Neither of us had read the book, but we had both loved your book reviews so were excited to see how close to your source material they kept it. You'll be pleased to hear they must be avid readers of this blog, as it stuck almost uncannily faithfully to your narrative. They even gave up a couple of chapters into the second book, saying "who really cares?" before wrapping it up. Some additional angles they took: - Christian Grey being blatantly homosexual. Not the biggest leap I guess. - Plenty of mentions of how terrible the writing is and how forced the metaphors are (they quoted something about a red room which was red like the red bits of a candy cane, but not the white bits, which apparently was straight from the book) - Katherine "Kate" Kavanagh being an overweight biffa girl who was eating all the time, yet kept dropping lines such as "you can borrow my top...but don't stretch it out", a line which I think was from the original but an amusing departure - Jose wasn't really in it other than one brief mention, though they did introduce a new character "Willy Blowman" who was Anastasia's lawyer who reviews the sex contract and then does a number about how he'd love to be done by Christian Grey. He did admit that he wasn't actually in the book though. - We were looking for a baseball bat on the wall of sex toys, but didn't see one - a considerable oversight on their side. They did however have a ceramic pink flamingo which at one point went up someone's rectum - was that in the book? - At the end Anastastia was in a white wedding dress and with a baby bump, though they didn't comment on it, so I guess she gets preggers and they get married at the end.
  5. Getting past the ads is fine. If you can't be bothered to wait through 30 secs for them to disappear you don't deserve to be watching live football for free. It's no worse than watching a video on youtube.
  6. This has been raised a couple of times here. Sorry to keep harking on about the NBC deal in the US, but if they are showing every game from every team in the PL next season, then surely there's going to be a stream of each one around on the internet...and it's not that hard to hook your computer up to the TV!
  7. I don't like this new direction of late where Tokyo Saint pretends he's married.
  8. There are other threads if you are not interested in this one.
  9. Fair play to you. Question asked (in OP), question answered. Everyone else in here was just giving their opinions, mostly nothing to do with the question asked. Now we know that the stats were biased more towards aerial ability and tendency to foul that most other measures being used for midfielders (tackles / interceptions / passing). Debate away chaps...
  10. Did anyone actually read the article? All the stats are from Bloomberg Sports, not TalkSport who only reported it. There are plenty of players from teams all through the PL (obviously more from the top teams as you'd expect). Jay Rod the only Saints player (as an Attacking Mid), to save others a few clicks.
  11. You know I would like nothing more than to pop round and see your Fine Family of Scandinavians - to take a look at what you've done with the place, catch up with what the grown-ups are doing these days, see the precocious kids who must be all grown up now, and the fat one who most probably isn't. Why I'll bet there are even a few new little sprogs running around in the clan! However I'm not sure that I'd be welcomed any more. Too much time has passed since I walked out on those noble sentinels. I made my decision and I have to live with that now. Sure, to my face they'd be all peaches and cream, but deep down there would be a sadness. There would be resentment. There would be gossiping, and snigg*ring, and subtle jibes that go over my head. "Oh here comes the last of the famous, International Playboys", they'd mock. I'd be the prodigal son returning without even the redeeming qualities of being broke, being broken or having any kind of commitment to stay. In short - a tw*t. In the words of JC: everybody hates a tourist. It wouldn't be fair. I've made my bloody, treacherous bed and now I have to lie in it. Those who falter, and those who fall, must pay the price. Just know that I treasure every one of the little critters in your wonderful abode, and go about your ways safe in the knowledge that there will always be a little bit of my heart devoted to it.
  12. This is getting weird: Turkish - do you mean lintel? Derry - do you mean ladle?
  13. I think we need a list of who's a c*nt and who's a d!ck. I see myself as more of an @rsehole.
  14. What was the topic of the interesting chat?
  15. Sucks to be you! Here in the US the new NBC deal means we'll have every game of every team, every week! 'Merica...f**k yeah!
  16. So did we ever get to find out Turkish's real name?
  17. More to the point, do you have any reason to suspect your mate is in the know?
  18. The cheeky scamp is playing us for fools...
  19. I think the long shots stat is purely based on the fact J Rod has a pop every time he sees the goal in even his peripheral vision.
  20. I don't like it when clubs steal bylines from another company's logo.
  21. Anyone know when Bearsy's due back? I wonder what his opinions would be on this thread.
  22. I got 5 but I guessed most (if not all).
  23. Oh yeah, me too. Except I was raving about him since April...
