Now we the ups/downs are sorted, you predictions for next season
Deano6 replied to Deano6's topic in The Saints
All teams are currently level on zero points. Nobody has any advantage over any other at this stage. Any predictions are purely guesswork of what might happen - nobody has any divine right to points. There's nothing to say I won't be completely wrong about how it will play out - indeed I was convinced Leicester would be automatically promoted in my guesses last year. Maybe one of the Manchester teams may get relegated next year, who knows? So I've made my predictions, why don't you make some of your own and we can compare who was closest at the end of the season? -
It's a bit racist is that: 5 blacks guys 2 c*nts 1 donkey 2 token old guys and Warren Barton

Here's one for you Dune! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/g8/9277799/Dont-mention-the-score-Angela-Merkel-looks-stony-faced-as-David-Cameron-celebrates-Chelsea-victory.html

And I wouldn't say apples are bananas. What point are you making?

We now know it'll bet Reading and West Ham going up with us, with Wolves, Bolton and Blackburn coming down, what are your predictions for our new league next season? I've actually been watching this division for a few years now, not just this season, so know a bit about it already. For my money the teams we need to be watching out for are the two from Manchester: United and City. Chelsea are pretty good and could be a force next season plus Arsenal always perform strongly. To be honest I think these teams are the best ones and I personally don't think we'll be able to retain our coveted 2nd spot once more, but then I said something similar a year ago so who knows. My view is that we've now pretty much found our level and it won't be so easy from here on in. Even some of the teams I haven't mentioned are pretty good and may finish above us, those are Tottenham, Newcastle and maybe even Liverpool if they get themselves a good new manager. So my prediction unfortunately is a little on the pessimistic side and say I think we'll finish 17th. I would be happy with that, I think, though wouldn't want us to finish any lower. -
Congratulations to West Ham for winning promotion. No bitterness here. Very much deserved after a strong season where they comfortably outperformed all the other three teams in the playoffs. Looking forward to the meetings next season!

Fail on 2, 3 and 29. Pass on all the rest. I don't have an audi but I could but one if I wanted, just no need in the middle of New York. So yeah....SUCK ON THAT B*TCHES!! Can the study go on to explain why I am single?

A comprehensive list of all the acronyms on Saints Web

What does KONY mean? Been seeing people using it everywhere this year, not just on this site, but can't for the life of my figure out what people are on about. Since nobody else seems to have picked up on it I assume everyone is using it towards me, so have taken it to mean the King Of New York, where I live, but to be honest some of the people out there haven't been too nice about me. -
I think he means Sophie's choice, though that's a little strong!

Ha! You hear that Dune! Saintandy has outdone you again!!

Well Qatar and Russia bought the World Cup, so I don't see why not!

You did well given that song was released in 1999!

I remember at the time when we were looking for a new manager (I forget if it was just before Pardew, or in the Dodd/Gorman era or when) a lot of people were clamouring on this board for Tommy to become our manager. He's still very popular round these parts and there were a lot of smart people who thought he could have done a great job for us. Obviously we went down another path in the end, but we'll never know how close he was to leading us once more and perhaps it may have been him driving the bus into the Premier League. I think the least we can do for the man is to support the fruit of his loins. I dialled in 10 votes for me (and for anyone else who wanted to but wasn't able to).

I can think of Man U, Torquay, Millwall and Northampton we each played twice (unless you count replays, which would be stupid). Aaah, just come back to this. Forgot the JPT. It'd be Torquay then. I think we did and then they tonked us at theirs to win 5-4 overall in the season (bastards, just that one away goal would have clinched it for us!) I only really replied so I could do this one. You didn't have to say they were any good! -------------------James Shea----------------------- ---Ifill----------Bennett------Trotman-----O'Halloran-- --Hammill--------Mellis-------Stephens----Kosowski--- ---------Peckhardt---------------Robertson---------- Subs: Miller, Hooiveld, Pearce, Cork, Chaplow, Guthrie, Saganowski (we are in the Prem now!) Could give any team in the Championship a run for their money

Or as the Mexicans call it "Cinco de Mayo". -
Just in case anyone starts treating this seriously, I wanna get in early and say the second penalty at Millwall.

If SOME people at the ground are capable of wearing different things in the evening than they wore to the ground, then OTHER people may be able to manage it too. Simple enough for you?
-
What if they don't want to go out after (such as the poster above)? What if they will get changed between the match and going out? This is a very weak argument indeed. By this logic you should be having a go at the players too as they can't go out on the **** in what they are wearing to the game either!

Very cool. Very, very cool!

While I get the gist of your point, and by extension that of Dune, Turkish etc, you must see there is a big difference between: a) the tvvats that dress up in ridiculous outfits every game, generally the overweight, middle aged guys (who at least appear sad and desperate) [see here John PFC Westwood] and b) people enjoying themselves on the last day of the season where it is a party/carnival atmosphere and like it or not dressing up has become a tradition in football (you remember the Southend lads who came down here on the last day a few years ago...nobody thought any less of them). These threads seem to have sprung up recently in response to the latter, based on at most 2 games (remember the televised Boro game was widely expected by many to be our promotion party). On these occasions some people want to have a bit of a celebration, and dressing up and being a bit crazy is what they want to do. If it is not your bag, so what? Grow up. You can't be serious ALL the time. I just don't see that we have much of a problem with a). There'll always be the odd few loons who want to put on a glitter wig, and good luck to them if they do, but never more than a handful and I've never heard of it as being identifiable with Saints by anyone outside the club. There is the enduring image of the lad in yellow clown attire at Boro with the sad face, which makes for a memorable photo, but I've never seen that guy dressed like that before or since. So I'm just confused really as to what these threads are aimed at. They just sound paranoid and insecure. They seemed to have morphed more recently into a plea for Saints fans to look and dress better at games...not to avoid fancy dress but to put more effort into their more general style. Frankly if you succeed in that then congratulations and we can have the best looking fans in the country, but personally I don't really see the point.

If I post on a thread that gets deleted, does it still count towards my 3 a day?

...and results went as they were, then we would have been promoted the week before as West Ham couldn't catch us and been 2 points ahead of Reading, effectively needing just a point at Boro to secure the title. We would then have thrown it away with a 2-1 defeat despite having been leading after the first minute. Just think what a different mood we would have had on Saturday then! I know things *might* have panned out differently and Reading may have had more of a go at a very strong Birmingham side, but just goes to show it's not just how the table ends up but they journey you took to get there that ends up defining your season. Let's spare a thought for the unsung hero in all this: COYfixture-computer!!!

Not sure if posted before, but I've only just seen this. Absolutely terrible what he went through. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/mar/23/billy-sharp-southampton-doncaster Billy Sharp - what a guy!
