More likely the agent!

Simon Peach @SimonPeach Reply Retweet Favorite · Open I understand Billy Sharp will earn a lot less than the £28k #LCFC offered. Not interested in the money, just wants to play for #SaintsFC.

Just watched local news here in the East Midlands and David Nugent being cyber bullied by Saints fans on twitter got a mention. What a **** head! If you can't take then don't dish it out Dave.

I also think it is sad. I love to hate Pompey and on the football pitch I wish they would lose every game. But I don't want this .... We nearly faced extinction only a couple of years ago.

Would also have to find money for wages. If Sharp comes in at £3 million but wants £25k a week then that would be £4.3 million in total. -
Although I understand he has signed a new contract we could go back for Fountaine at BC.

I'll say it again. We will not finish in the top 2!
Ashby Saint replied to Cestrian Saint's topic in The Saints
It could go either way. We have over achieved with the squad we have got. We could do a Blackpool (when they were in the Prem) and slip back badly in the second half and finish midtable. We could also invest to stabilise with fresh blood and probably make the playoffs. I cannot see us staying in the top two. WHU will go up as Champions and probably Cardiff or Birmingham will finish second. -
Adkins has done a great job. As I see it, there are a few problems that can be fixed: (a) The full backs don't snuff out wide men quick enough. They are very slow at closing down. This must be tactical / coached and Adkins needs to address this. Once the ball comes in - all hell usually breaks loose - and defensive organisation at corners is sometimes a bit ragged. (b) Without Lambert we are not physical enough up front. Connolly is talented but too light weight for this division and he is easily bullied off the ball. Guly is physical but his reactions seem frustratingly slow and he sometimes charges about like a headless chicken. This is a lack of players problem (not Adkins issue directly as he can only coach what he has got). © We sometimes play a bit too much like Arsenal (and not in a good way). Lots of playing the ball square and back. We sometimes lack the quick and decisive penetration required to turn / unsettle defences at this level. Part coaching / tactics and possibly a lack of players too (although Adkins could pick players to give us that penetration more regularly such as De Ridder).

Only saw the first half an hour but it reminded me of the away game. Two down early after sloppy defending. We almost climbed the mountain that day with full strength team but we had no chance tonight without Ricky. There are three problems as I see it: (a) The full backs don't snuff out wide men quick enough. They are very slow at closing down. This must be tactical / coached. Once the ball comes in - all hell usually breaks loose. (b) Without Lambert we are not physical enough up front. My only comment on Cortese is that he has allegedly said he wants us to go up as champions. If this is true, then he must also know it requires significant investment. If you talk the talk then walk the walk.

I was at Forest and in the first 20 minutes Forest had several corners from which they should have scored. If they had, it might have been a different game. Fair play we did dominate after halftime.

8. We must close down wide players more quickly. Too much time to cross and it's wreaking havoc in the box.

Or from Google translate: 若者はよくやった = the lads done well スコアシートに得るために喜んで = pleased to get on the scoresheet 私はバスで午前 = I am on the bus

So what we need now is someone to normalise the attendance data to total distance travelled to remove this factor from the figures.

Who is this week's mystery signing?

What about us going back for Fountaine at BCFC. Has his ankle healed yet? -
Reports from where? All the newspaper links I looked at referred only to Lennon's off-the-cuff evaluation as if it was true (which it clearly can't be).

Fourth Official on twitter suggesting Stefano Okaka from Roma. -
I have been to most midlands games. This was the most comfortable win I've seen for ages. Actually enjoyed second half without worrying about the final result. Singing was ok. Didn't seem to be as coordinated as previous games with different sides singing different songs.
-
Not surprising though is it if 50% of fans support Celtic and the other half Rangers.
-
I can't see signing him a problem. Surely we could fax the contract to Japan and he faxes back a signed copy. Simples. On the other hand, I suspect he needs to train a bit more with squad before being ready to play and that points to the Leicester game.

Unless in those four months you get a serious injury. -
We need to buy now if we are going to give this a go

My take FWIW is that Saints have played a wait and see this Summer. If we were struggling at xmas then get in players to consolidate our position in the league. If we had a shot at promotion (as we do) then get a couple of players that could help our promotion but also play in the Premiership. If mid-table then plan for the summer. This makes sense as we really did not know whst kinda of side we had and how far these players could take us. If you buy hastely then you might be left with a player on hefty wages that you can't easily move on. Now we know where we are lets buy some quality! -
While I think that tying him up to a contract is good. I've seen Saints 4 or 5 times this year and I do think that Fonte is a bit over rated. His distribution from the back is rather suspect on occasion, as is his defending. On the field, he is quick to blame others for his mistakes. I think Jos is the better player.
