The problem was never the aspiration of world class catering or the radio station itself, both were good ideas. I liked the radio station. The problem was that a certain Chairman tried to use them as examples of how the club had moved forward at a time when he had made a complete mess of the football side of things. I'm happy to hear about these improvements and things when we are doing well, but when things are in a mess on the pitch I don't give a sh*t how good the food is.

The season ticket prices have not been released = News There is speculation that the price could be £125 = bullsh*t

Must've been someone pretty important to be driving one around already.

The article says the car driver was joining the motorway from a slip road, sounds like she was trying to undertake the lorry to get in front of him but misjudged it. Lorry driver then collected her car. Still amazed that he couldn't hear, see or feel anything.

If I was to phone the Echo and say... "I've heard a rumour that the whole of Southampton is going to be ripped up and turned into a massive massive cheese factory" ...would you expect them to print it? No. You would expect them to dismiss it as rubbish. I would have expected the same with this gossip.
-
I can barely believe the Echo have published the rumour about the £125 season ticket, which is so clearly never going to happen. Why would you print that?

He seemed to think it had been given for the first shot that was cleared off the line by Baines "that is a very very close call if he's given it", completely ignoring the fact that Green was lying with the ball about 3 feet over the goal line.

What a wierd thing to say.

I leave the pitch with a ruddy face and dripping with sweat every time I play but it doesn't mean I've covered more ground than a 26 year old Brett Ormerod would have. They guy had an engine like very few players I've seen for us. I don't deny that Barnard works hard for the team and ends up knackered, but he does not cover the ground that Ormerod used to and he does not do it with as much pace. Also, it's not just about working hard, it's about how, where and when you do it. I happen to think that Ormerod's brand of hard work was more effective for the team than Barnards. Just to add finally, I'm in no way anti-Barnard, he's an excellent player for us, just frustrates me the lack of credit Ormerod gets from some people.
-
You are all mental. You would be dissapointed if we couldn't beat Blackpool? The team that just got promoted to the Premier League? Mental.
-
Then you are forgetting where we are now. At his peak Brett Ormerod was a vital part of a side that finished 8th in the Premier League. At his peak Lee Barnard is playing in League One. A good player at this level but can you honestly see him playing for a top 8 prem side?
-
I think he means that Brett at 25 was better than Barnard at 25.

I cannot imagine how much that must have ****ing hurt.

Ex-Saints and the perils of unexpected success
Barry the Badger replied to RonManager's topic in The Saints
He made 33 appearances. I think he's entitled to celebrate. -
I will send him the link to this thread :-)

I would be impressed if he went through those double glazed windows from that position.

I like the way you paint us as though we were desperately trying to adjust, perhaps right at the end we were but that wasn't where the problems began. It's more like someone who has his pay cut in half but continues to live the high life regardless. We didn't have to make all those big signings under Burley, we should have adjusted. We gambled on promotion and failed.

Health and Safety my arse. If he wants to make a ladder out of some planks of wood then fair play to him. At least the job got done.

This is the first game I remember watching and being absolutely captivated by. I was 8 at the time and from that point on I was football mad. This in turn led to my Uncle taking me to The Dell and the rest is history.

Had a discussion with my Father In Law yesterday when he said he thought Becks was a "terrible" role model for young people. Although I'm no great Beckham fan, I thought that was a bit wide of the mark and argued that I thought he was a great example of somebody who always gives their all and absolutely makes the most of the talent they are given. I know he still talks like he's about ten, but I would rather have children looking up to him as a role model than Ashley Cole, John Terry etc etc. My Father In Law couldn't be swayed though, and I wonder if it's just me who thinks that now. So just interested in other peoples opinions on Beckham these days.
