Rather than make it more twee they should've rocked it up.

That was amazing. To be sitting at a football match and have the bloke next to me tap me on the shoulder and offer me a screwdriver was quite surreal. Great fun.

Has anybody thought of the USA? Is there anybody on the forum who lives in the USA and could confirm whether this would be a good area to look at? I hope so.

I like them. Some people just love having something to moan about. At least they've not just gone for some dull safe option like a lion or something.

Never quite understood why Darren Powell is featured. In the middle on the left.

Rubens has tried to say he was attempting to get out of the car quickly, despite it being obvious to anybody watching that he was having a little bit of a hissy fit. Still not sure I agree with you re Schumacher, none of the drivers looked to me like they were coasting to the line so clearly nobody knew what was going on. In fact, part of the reason Schumacher was able to pass Alonso was the wheelspin he seemed to pick up as he tried to put his foot down and get going.

Seems that the issue was not so much with the rule itself, but rather poor communication from the control desk. If they expected the race to end under safety car conditions they probably should have communicated that to the teams.

He isn't.

As long as he's tall, and can head the ball, then he has all the attributes to be a great defender. Just ask Jaidi

I was under the impression that in our last season in the championship, gates of around 18'000 was aknowledged as our break even point. So surely now with gates over 20'000 and no mortgage, we must be pretty self sustainable on a day to day basis.

Perhaps they're waiting for the club to be able to pay for it itself rather than out of ML pocket?
-
Bloody hell. What chance do we all have when the commentators, stewards, teams and drivers appear confused about the rules?

I can't tell if you're taking the **** or not I hope so.

I don't understand the Lib Dem voters who are unhappy with the coalition. I voted Lib Dem and when the talks were ongoing the two outcomes as I saw it were. 1. No coalition, completely Tory government, Lib Dems the insignificant third party with no influence. 2. Coalition, Lib Dems having influence in Westminster, Lib Dem MP's in the cabinet, some Lib Dem policies being considered, workable government. Basically a choice between the party I voted for having no influence and having a little bit. Makes no sense to me to be unhappy about that.

Give me an example where by doubling the away goals it gives a different result to the way you would like everybody to work it out, and I will concede you have a point.

Of course you can't expect the echo to just ignore the speculation... The thing is that the echo didn't just take the reports appearing elsewhere and comment on them. They took them and bloody ran and ran and ran with them! They didn't just report that they had heard rumours, they reported this stuff as though it were fact! That was their mistake IMO.

I agree with all of that.

Yeah, good work

What if the Lib-Con coalition ends up working really well?
Barry the Badger replied to trousers's topic in The Lounge
It simply wouldn't have worked, even with both parties they still wouldn't have had a majority. A minority coalition would have been a nightmare. In my opinion it was either a case of a coalition with the tories, or leaving the tories to form a minority government. -
Wow, Gordon in 'entirely missing the blatant dry humour' shocker.

Sure, I work in IT myself and actually do agree. It SHOULD be easily possible. But I would bet my life on any attempt to computerise the voting system being a complete and total f*ck up.

Before I start, let me just say that MLT is my hero. Love the guy. Legend. Genius. But.... At the end of the day I reckon MLT would be the first to admit that if you dish it out you have to be prepared to take it back. He said of Cortese "He has handled this issue very poorly. He should be grateful that Alan Pardew wants to stay and work here." Now if somebody said that about me, I would feel well within my rights to respond in kind, regardless of who they were.
