  1. Most definitely this.
  2. Nah mate, you're chatting brown. I went a lot during that period (89-2005) Rarely had more than 500-700 for away games up North and often less. I remember the occasional good turnout at Coventry/Villa but anything further north than that - no chance. Btw, the reference to the Flowers Cup game at OT - that was midweek in our defence and we should have been murdered - in my top 3 away games that one. Very rarely took more than 1500-2000 to London games either.

    Boruc

Serious question....where are your sources for the above assertion? Shall I save you the trouble?

    Boruc

I agree. Of the teams above us I think I'd only take Cech, Lloris and De Gea (maybe Howard) over Boruc. And maybe Guzan of the teams below us.
  5. Look who posted it. You can pretty much guarantee nonsensical viewpoints from that particular troll. Stoke played us well. Lacking a few ideas in the 2nd half. Reasonable result though.
  6. Yeah must be that. Bellend. Like you've got any ****ing idea what's going on.
  7. Would've settled for a point beforehand so happy with result ultimately. Lovren doesn't look good though. Right, I'm off before the fannies arrive.
  8. Yep - there's a huge amount of tools on this forum.
  9. If you don't think Columbia's the best song on that album then you know nothing about music. Some good tunes in the rest but the lyrics are gash.
  10. Hookworms - Pearl Mystic
  11. Care to name a team in the Prem at the moment who fits that bill? It's OK - I'll save you the trouble - you can't. (This is not aimed at you, Shurlock) People need to stop *****ing. In 2 or 3 years (assuming we keep most of this team together + a couple of additions) we will have a team the likes of which most of us have spent our Saints supporting lives only dreaming of. There will be off days along the way (especially against teams of Chelsea's calibre) but we are going places by playing the 'right way' and it's ****ing great, quite frankly.
  12. This. One of the best teams in Europe playing well - no shame in losing to that lot. Shame we couldn't take one of our 1st half chances - things might have turned out differently.
  13. TBH, Lallana's been hit and miss until this season where he's been phenomenal for the last 10-15 games. Given that players aren't supposed to peak until 27-29 then we've still got more to come - which is great. Lambert's just a machine and his contribution to our rise up the divisions has been more significant than that of Lallana overall. Lallana's the future though (hopefully).
  14. That'll be because people like you and Turkish lap it up - getting semis in the process.
  15. Who would be the 'very good replacement' for Shaw? Certainly, £30 million for Shaw is ridiculous money but I'm not convinced that there's a ready made replacement out there who would be willing to come to us instead of one of the top clubs.
  16. Usual 'political correctness gone mad' morons on here. Still waiting on a couple to turn up though. Seriously lads, it's Christmas, put the bottles of bile away for a few days.
  17. This. There are 10 people in my department in a medium-sized secondary school. With the exception of one teacher (who isn't quite a 9-3er), everyone else in my department does roughly the same hours as me. Normally in by 7.30 and stay til 6 every night except Friday. I'm fortunate in living only 5 mins from school. Get in, do stuff. Normally work 7.30-9pm. Weekends, in school Saturday morning - usually half day work at home on Sunday. Of the five days off during half term I work at least 3 of them. Christmas and Easter (2 weeks each) working at least a week of each. Summer (6 weeks) four weeks off (****ing lovely) topped and tailed with a week of work. No complaints, I teach a great subject and love my job. It's hard work but it's reasonably well paid and (the clincher) I get to spend all the school holidays with my kids. All the people who say teachers moan about this, that and the other - ********. This is the 3rd school I've worked in and everyone knows the deal with marking, planning etc and works ****ing hard. What teachers DO moan about is successive governments with agendas ****ing changing everything every five minutes. Imagine every year being told to do your job differently (but not better, crucially, because they don't know what 'better' is), you make the changes and then the following year get told to change your practice again. Without having the opportunity to embed good practice and, importantly, go through several cycles so you can iron out creases and make your teaching consistently outstanding. All the while the people that really matter (your kids) suffer because they're being used as guinea pigs by governments who consistently ignore educational research in favour of half baked ideas with no firm scientific grounding. That's why teachers moan... ..it's been a long term!
  18. As an aside - some people saying the Premier League has ruined the Cup competitions have got it slightly wrong, IMO. The Cup competitions became immediately devalued the moment the FA let United skip the FA Cup and enter that competition (forget what it was called) in S.America. The one where entering United was seen as giving us a better chance of hosting the World Cup (a joke in itself) As soon as the FA Cup became devalued the LC was devalued even further by default. So, it's actually United's fault (as well as the spineless FA).
  19. I was mate's with Branfoot's son. Got the occasional comp which was painful sometimes with the amount of **** he got.
  20. As I said no agenda...I also happen to agree entirely with this post while standing by what I typed above.
  21. Laughable. I have no agenda either way. But Lambert's (along with Lallana) probably got the best touch in the team - rarely miscontrols. 'come on Rickie prove me wrong'? He's got **** all to prove to anyone. He's being used differently this season and is showing off his all round game - when playing he's (again along with Lallana) our most creative player. I can only think of one obvious shooting chance he's had which he should have buried (Liverpool away) - otherwise he's had **** all service. In the main because he's dropping deep and letting players run beyond him before serving it up for them.
  22. If we can keep this team together the next 5+ years will be ****ing awesome. Attractive attacking football with homegrown talent - it's pretty much the dream.
  23. Struggling to choose a MOTM. Anyone from Lovren, Chambers, Shaw, Cork or Lallana really. Davis had another tidy game - properly underrated that player.
  24. To be fair, this is nonsense - he was just as anonymous as Osvaldo. Either way, the fact that Osvaldo/Lambert are getting slagged off by anyone is ****ing astonishing. There'll be at least 10 other teams in this division that get nothing at either Arsenal or Chelsea (let alone OT/Anfield) - we competed well for a good hour in both those games and I reckon everyone on here would've settled for that in August.
