He's obviously been on the Adkins diet. Okay, I'm getting my coat............

If only we had signed that new striker........... What an excellent result, with the added bonus of a Skate defeat. Fantastic feeling to be top of the league, especially going into a 2 week break.
-
Very happy for Holmes. It's been a great day. And still time for Rickie to get his hat-trick..........
-
This could have been an absolute annihilation.
-
Sainys sound to be all over them.... and another pen....... and....... another Rickie goal!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2-0

Lambert, De Ridder, Guly, Lallana, Barnard, Forte Not all out and out strikers but all eminently capable of playing up front. Plus, after today we have 2 weeks before our next match. Connolly's injury can't be that bed, or we would have heard about it. So in 2 weeks he could well be back. Certainly nothing to get worked up about.

Get in there Rickeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Completely agree with all of this.

Yes, we desperately need to bring in a new signing, and especially a forward. We are only top of the league, with the most goals scored and the best goal difference. We are clearly not performing nearly well enough!!! (Hand in face thingy.) By the way, to you and Pilchards, as Adrian asked, WHO should we bring in? Who is this mysterious prem player that has been left out of his team's 25 man squad that would come straight into our first team and improve it? And, of course, who do you want to see dropped from our first team and match-day squad? Who is not good enough, in your opinion?

You forgot the most important question: 6. Will any money actually be paid to the charity?

RIP I have a channel called BBC Entertainment, which mainly shows many repeats of many old shows. Recently I have been watching Allo, Allo and Dad's Army; no matter how many times they are shown, I still find them funny.

I think he is just referring to the fact that FOOTBALL CREDITORS are paid from it as and when such payments are due. You are right, of course, that they must have already had two thirds of the parachute money (the first 2 years worth).

Yes, I know it was a stupid post - but the thought just pees me off too much. I hate the way he whined about Fabregas and Barca whilst he was doing the same to us with AOC.

And have hypocrite Wenger tapping up Lallana for the next 12 months until he leaves us for £20m + add-ons? No thanks.

You know, I think that you are probably correct in the fact that they just wanted an English football league club, ANY club, and most likely the cheaper the better. And you were more than available, Cinny was desperate to offload you; so much so that he was even willing to take his money on the never-never, which we all know is a VERY dangerous thing to do with those serial defaulters. So, having been knocked back in their attempt to purchase a club in a far better condition (Bompey) they went for a cheaper and worse (in their opinion, otherwise you would have been first choice for them) option. Interestingly, for us, there has been no pledge to make you a promotion fighting force; no declaration to get you back into the prem in x amount of years (unlike when we were bought) and interesting that they started looking low down in the echelons of the football league. Maybe that is where they want to be? They certainly don't seem to want to spunk loads of money on their football project. My guess is that tey will be content to have a club flitting between league 1 and the championship - it still looks nice on their CV. Maybe I'm wrong, but I certainly can't see a Harry 7 Storrie style spending spree happening with these guys in charge. So whilst you, and many other Pompey fans I know, are AT THIS MOMENT saying you are just happy to have a club to support - how long will this feeling last? Are you ready to spend another 30 odd years in our shadow?

in order of their current league position: Man Utd Man Citeh Chelski Newcastle Stoke Everton Liverpool Wolves Blackburn Arsenal Bolton Saints Cardiff C. Palace Burnley Aldershot I know there will be many on here hoping for us to get the Arse away, or either of the Mancs/Scousers at home. However, I always want to see Saints win EVERY match so a home tie against Aldershot would be top of my wish list. Having said that, it would also be quite interesting for Pards to bring Leon Best and the 'toon down here.

I'd vote for you. I'm sure that's your third goal this season. Not bad going from the other side of the Atlantic!

Lundekvam or Svensson or Ostenstad or Ekelund?
Minsk replied to georgeweahscousin's topic in The Saints
If I could have only one of them playing for us now, and in his prime, it would be Killer. Killer and Fonte together would be the best CB pairing in the division. -
Talking of toilets..... Maybe Glen Johnson was just trying to help out the poor phew phans when he was caught in B&Q that day?

"In the past six-or-seven years around half-a-billion pounds was moving around the club............ we can promise is that that will not happen with us." Now this I wholeheartedly believe!

Shooting on/near HMS Astute alongside in Southampton

When I was serving (retired 7 years ago) you could not drink within 12 hours of handling a weapon. If I was to arm a man and he looked even slightly hungover, let alone still under the influence, there is no way he would have been given a weapon. I find it very hard to believe there was any doubt that he was completely sober, and if there was/is the person responsible for arming him would be severely punished. -
Is David Connolly, 34, better than Kevin Phillips, 38?
Minsk replied to Giordano's topic in The Saints
I am very happy to have Connolly in our team as opposed to KP because of his link-up play. Mind you, I do hope that KP gets a hat-trick next week and that Ormerod also gets one. -
I'll have you know that we are very happy with your manager. His predecessor was great as well. As were the couple before him.

I DON'T think we should bring a young prem forward in right now. RIGHT NOW we are playing very well. Who would he replace in the team/on the bench? (Apart from Bart, different arguement and on another thread.) We have the speedy option of Forte, who cannot make the bench (although I am sure he would be on it every week if we were still allowed 7 subs). We also have Barney to come back. And, as was mentioned, de Ridder who cannot buy a start at the moment (in the league at least). SHOULD there be an injury crises THEN we can bring in an emergency loan IF we can find someone good enough. Buy someone in January by all means, providing they will compete for a place in the first 11. But not a loan of a prem youngster right now. As an aside, for those who do want this youngster loaned in, who do you think we could honestly bring in right now?
