Parhaps you could do both? This one and something like: 'He got his Skates on' Just a thought. Good site by the way.

You would say that, wouldn't you Corpy? Or, if you're not Corp Ho.... Does your predicting that Saints would win their matches mean that you now think the likes of Connolly, Lambert, Lallana, et al, ARE good enough for the Championship? Or perhaps you now concede that the players DO respect and play for Adkins? Or that Adkins, and his staff, do not underestinate the opposition? Or that Adkins is more tactically aware than you earlier gave hin credit for?

The best post so far in an excellent thread! lol

Hmmm, a left sided CB which is what we need, but I'm not sure he is any better than Seaborne. 1st half of last season was on loan at Middlesboro, where he made a whole 2 appearances 2nd half of the season was spent at Doncaster, where he only made 8 appearances Not entirely sure he would be the 'rock' many of us want. However, if Nige decides he is then we will have to trust in his judgement.

I think this is part of the reasoning of going for JayRod. As a 22 year old I don't think he would complain about being on the bench for Saints as opposed to the main man for Burnley. I feel he would fit in very well being used as and when required whilst developing as a player. Certainly, I think he would be a better fit than Maynard who would want to be first choice all the time. And with Byrnley having bought 2 new forwards this week I think he may well soon join us. Similarly, now that QPR have been taken over and Warnock now has money to spend perhaps Gorkss will realise he is soon to be wayyy down the pecking order at QPR. He didn't make the squad, let alone the team, for their match and now Warnock is talking about buying 5 new players - one of which is rumoured to be Onuoha. So, hopefully by this time next week we will have those two on the bus and will be fully complemented for the season. (Of course, i also expect to see Puncheon and Mills depart, and possibly Dickson out on loan.)

Exactly, however a perfect fit for the type of player who ends up at the other end of the M27.

I agree, totally unrealistic but it would be fantastic.

Here is the reason you no longer pay a fiver? Because you don't like it when people make assertations based upon your posting history? Oh bless, I wonder how you would have reacted if, say, someone had called you a f..king tosser nobody? I am not at all surprised you responded to those two posts whilst yet again ignoring the more relevent, fact based ones, posted previously. Why am I not surprised? Because it is your style to do the 'boohoo, they're picking on me' thing, as opposed to holding healthy debate and responding to given facts. But then again, despite your saying you only wanted to debate things in a grown up manner without anyone resorting to childish behaviour your only input was 'I think so because I think so' whilst ignoring valid reasons contrary to your beliefs and then it was YOU who resorted to name calling when you couldn't win an arguement. Maybe it is simply that you don't know how to debate things in a proper, adult, manner? Well, here are some tips: 1. Resorting to posting things like this: 'Well aren't the billy big balls out display when there is an opportunity to points score, lol.Quelle surprise. I strongly suspect this thread would have consigned to the realms of obscurity if our start had not been so bright.Again, quelle surprise,' isn't the way to do so. I mean, in this you are stating that you are surprised by something that hasn't, nor ever will, happened. How is that proving a point? 2. Again posting things like, 'Well, now that all the people who obviously have extra sensory perception could please now give me the lottery numbers,' really doesn't help your cause. To the best of my knowledge, NOBODY predicted we would start the season by winning our first 3 league matches (4 in total) whilst scoring 9 goals (13 in total) including thrashing Ipswich 5-2 away. All some of us said was that we thought we hold our own in this division, something which has yet to be proved - we might yet be wrong, and if so I am sure you will be back to tell us all. 3. Rewriting history is also not a way to go about it. That is so Corp Ho! For example, 'Damn me for having a cause for slight apprehension, thankfully that has been completely dispelled by the fact we are on a world beating 'unbeaten in the league for 3 games' run.' Slight Apprehension? You made some pretty damning accusations early on in this thread. Things like: Adkins will be out thought tactically by the more experienced in this division; Adkins, his coaching staff and the players will underestimate the teams in this division; Chamberlaim, Connolly, Davis, de Ridder, Forte, Guly, Hammond, Jaidi, Lallana, Lambert, Richardson and Seaborne are not good enough to play in this division. That sounds more than 'SLIGHT' apprehension to me. As for your derisory "wolrd beating 'unbeaten in the league for 3 games' run" statement, again, that is so Corp Ho. It is not somply 3 games unbeaten in the league, IT IS A 9 GAME WINNING STREAK. A 'SLIGHT' difference there. 4. This is much better: 'Bloody good start by adkins and all concerned at SFC,long may it continue, especially as i am doing rather well in the prediction league, strange that eh......might as well give me the trophy now...seasons over obviously. Really great start to the campaign,we have the winning habit and hopefully that can be maintained, will be interesting to see how we react after a defeat.....but who knows when that will happen? Keep it up Nigel, looking good early doors, well done.' Except of course for the 'might as well give me the trophy now bit'. (Maybe they gave out trophies for coming 10th where you went to school though?) Nice to see a bit of humility from you and giving Nige a little bit of praise. However, it does 'slightly' contradict you aforementioned 'world beating, 3 games unbeaten' comment. 5. Instead of just responding to posts that don't actually prove anything either way, but just upset you a little bit, you could try responding to ones which actually have some basis to the matter being debated. For example, if someone said they believed the manager would underestimate the opposition and a few days later a quote from the manager is posted catagorically stating that he never does this - is something worth responding to. As for these bits, I know plenty of people who back Saints to lose matches. I know Saints fans who bet on the Skates to win, and Skate fans who do vice versa. It gives them a little something to cheer them when the results go the way they don't really want them to. So, perhaps just a similar 'reverse psycology' thing, is one possible anser? Another possibility is that you were/are not really so apprehensive and are just an attention seeking WUM. And yet another reeason could be that you thought about all the counter arguements given against your 'beliefs' on here and realised that you were wrong; yet, just like Corp Ho, you can never admit to being wrong. Come to think of it, I am sure Corp said he had another personality/user name on here. One who posted primarily on the main board, and occasionally on the Skate takeover one. A user name which he had paid a fiver for, to trick people into thinking he was a Saints fan, but that he wouldn't renew the subscription once it expired. Moreover, the more I read your posts the more you seem as far up your own arse as Corp is up his. But I think this is the final piece of evidence reqired: Corp Ho almost always finishes his posts by calling everyone else on here ladies. And did you finish the post above? - 'Carry on ladies,I enjoy the attempts at point scoring, but the only points i care about are the ones acumillated on the pitch.' Game's up Lardy; Oooops, sorry, Corpy!!!!!

It would have been cool to have had Buss on the Bus, but he has recently gone on loan to Palmeiras.

I don't think that these sentences are too harsh; I think that the majority of other sentences handed out in the UK are too lenient.

I believe it was a tactical substitution to make us more defensive. So starting with your midfield we would lose something in an attacking sense. Swings and roundabouts though. I am just very happy to have midfield options from: Lallana, Cork, Hammond, Guly, Morgan, Chaplow, de Ridder, Holmes. Over the course of the season all will prove their worth. What I don't understand is when some 'fans' constantly slate one of our players; especially when they are not even at the match and have no idea how well they are playing (as on last night's match thread).

I stand by the prediction I made before the first match - he will be our player of the season.

THIS!! As nothing appears to have been done server wise at least give those of us who pay access to a working forum. it doesn't have to be the whole day of a match; something like 30 mins prior to the match until an hour after the final whistle would be ample. This might even encourage more people to part with a fiver, as well as stopping many from not bothering to renew.

Well, 3 league games in and 3 wins, with 9 goals for and 3 against; plus a nice healthy 4-1 cup win to boot (but let's concentrate on the league matches): 7 players from the 12 deemed not good enough for this division by Lardy have started all 3 matches (Davis, Richardson, Hammond, Guly, Connolly, Lallana and Lambert) whilst another (Seaborne) has started the last 2 and another (de Ridder) has come on as a sub in all of them. One of those players not good enough for this division (Connolly) has scored in every league match so far this season; the only player in this division to have done so. Another two (Lambert and Lallana) bagged a brace apiece away to Ipswich tonight. Ipswich, one of the better teams in this division with ONE OF THE MOST EXPERIENCED MANAGERS! And none of those goals were penalties or free kicks. Oh, lets go back to that manager thing shall we? By Lardy's reckoning. Ipswich should have ripped us apart as Jewell is much more experienced than Adkins. Jewell has got a team promoted to the Prem and kept them there. Surely this should have been a classic example to prove Lard right in that Adkins would be exposed as inexperienced and outclassed in the managerial stakes. Maybe Jewell thought the same and it was HE whu underestimated Adkins? Especially from the kick-off! But even when Jewell did make changes and Ipswich started to get back into it, Adkins stood up to the plate and made the exact changes needed to put our authority back on the match and see the game out. So, Lardy, care to explain to us yet why you think Adkins and his staff will underestimate the opposition? Or why those 12, sorry now 11 as we got £12m for one of them, players are not good enough for the championship?
-
It was absolutelt diabolical on here tonight. Is anything being done? As has been suggested previously, something like making the site members only from 15 mins prior to kick-off until 30 mins after would be a great help. it might also encourage more people to pay. Win/Win - just like Saints!!!

Fox on for Connolly. Nige trying to close up shop.

Fox on for Connolly. Nige looking to close up shop.

Adam Lallana.....I think I love you!!!!!!!!! I said at the start of the first half thread that I thought Lambert and Lallana would score tonight!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Get de Ridder on for Connolly. As the game goes on Ipswich will push forward more and more and his pace could catch them on the break.
-
When doing the prediction league this afternoon I first put 3-2 to Saints, and then changed it to 2-1. Right at this very moment I will feel very happy to have been right the first time. However, I will fell even happier if Ricky gets his hat-trick and Lallana adds one or two more.
