Now that we are 5 games into the season, and the transfer window has closed, where do you see Saints finishing this season? 1. Automatic Promotion (Top 2) 2. Play-offs (3-6) 3. Top Half (7-12) 4. Mid to Bottom (13-17) 5. Flirting with relegation (18-21) 6. Relegated (22-24) Before the season started I said 7th-12th, and that is where I still think we will finish.

I don't think we will bring a striker in on loan, unless one of ours picks up a serious injury.

I can't honestly say that this signing excites me in any way. The fact that it is only a loan deal also kind of indicates to me that Adkins isn't too sure of him either. I think it is highly unlikely that Beckford would want to drop down a level, so really can't see this happening. However, I would absolutely love it if he did come here. As others have said, proven in the prem which is more than any of the other strikers we've been linked with. Plus at a much better price (if the 3m is correct). In fact, if we we really did get knocked back with a 4.5m bid for JayRod and Everton are willing to sell us Beckford for 3m then we could offer him (JB) a 1m signing on fee to get him here and still save 500k; plus get a better player to boot!

It was a shocking decision to throw Oxo into a match in which they were clearly being outplayed. Wenger is a complete and utter Arse (how appropriate, one might say). I did enjoy watching the game though, and felt sorry for Theo (and Alex), but laughed heartily at the French hypocrite!!

Fully agree, and have mentioned this a number of times myself - as have others. Apparently its too diffficult to do as it would mean Steve or Baj having to come on here prior to matches to sort out..........

The form says we should win. The head to head record says we should win. But I have been a Saints fan to long to expect us to win. I was going to predict a 3-2 win, but went for a 2-2 draw in the hope that the first prediction now comes true.

Well, we do do need left footed, quick and able to pass. That is certainly what we will need this coming Saturday. Certainly no need for a Jaidi against someone like Vassell. And if we do play a team with a huge lump, we can use the squad (i.e. Jaidi/Seaborne) accordingly.

It says 5' 9'' on Soccerbase and 1.8m on SkySports. I'm thinking (hoping, if we are in for him - as 5'9'' is short for a CB) that Soccerbase have screwed up. My reasoning is this: 1.8m = 5.9ft this, of course, = 5' 11'', but they just put it at 5'9''. Mind you 5'11'' still isn't big for a CB; I believe Jose is 6'1''; so this partnership would make him the big guy.
