  1. In the match against Forest we changed our shape twice, meaning we played in 3 different formations and i believe we changed it to our benefit yesterday at 3-1. So we can clearly do this with only the 4 outfield players available. Why do we need a 5th to the detriment of having a 'keeper on the bench? Who would you have put on the bench vice Bart yesterday? Who would play in goal should Kelvin get injured? Rickie? If so we would miss him up front; Cork or Hammond? We would miss them from the midfield; Fonte or Richardson? I would hate us to have to play any time without the former and we saw how much the latter was missed last week. I do not understand any manager who makes the decision not to have a 'keeper on the bench, and certainly have zero sympathy with them if their 'keeper is injured/sent off and they have to use an outfield player in goal for any length of time. I will admit though, Dexter did well when he was forced to play in goal for 10 minutes!
  2. No! I think it would be absolutely crazy not to have a 'kepper on the bench. True, it is a very rare occasion that one is needed but IT DOES HAPPEN. Look at Derby this weekend! A team is only allowed to use 3 subs from 5, so having 4 outfield players on the bench means at least 1 will be unused anyway. This is ample to have defensive, midfield and attacking options on the bench. And, if needs really must, it wouldn't be terrible to have 1 player out of position for some of the match - heck, even I have played LB, RB, CB, DM LM, RM and CF in my life, I am sure a professional should be able to adapt in an emergency. BUT, having to play in goal if you are an outfield player is a totally different matter. Question to the OP: How would you feel/react if Adkins did this for the match at Nottarf and Kelvin got injured in the first 5 minutes, leaving us to have to play someone like Morgan in goal for the rest of the match?

    Jos the Boss

It seems to me that the majority think Jos is the boss; with a minority believing he is not up to the grade. It certainly sounded like not only himself who had a decent game yesterday but Fonte also did. This was very pleasing after the previous three matches, as Fonte had made a number of mistakes in them. Here's hoping Jos and Jose become our next Killer and Claus.
  4. One therefore presumes it is also legal to get married at 12 in the Vatican City? Or are they being completely hypocritical, just for a change?
  5. Now that was a real LOL moment. I even had my daughter ask me what was so funny, but decided that as she is still a bit young to have it explained to her given that she is only 7.
  6. Excellent stuff!!!!!!!!!!
  7. CHAPPERS!!!! 4 goals 4 scorers Come On You Saints!!!!!!!!!!
  8. 3-0 - Lalllaaaaannnnnaaaaaaaaaa Buggers up my hat-trick of exact scores in the prediction league (of which I was top before kick-off today) but I have a huge smile on my face. (I was a bit concerned about this match to be honest.)
  9. get in there Guly!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Was it only me who lost SaintsPlayer just before Rickie took the pen?
  11. This. I could (but won't) name a few posters who said they would have preferred an 'experienced' manager like Cotterill to the 'unproven' Adkins. Thank the Lord they are not a 'fan on the board' having a say in how Saints are run. As for the OP; Skates play Derby on October 29. I hope the Clot is still in charge way beyond then, at least until Christmas!!
  12. A draw between Coventry and Ipswich tomorrow will see Poopy only 2 places (and, of course, still the 1 point) above the relegation zone, with the team immediately below them (Burnley) having a game in hand.
  13. League position is decided by points then goal difference then goals scored. So losing 3-2 is more advantageous than losing 1-0. I was at the home match against Brighton last season and was very frustrated by their (almost) cheating tactics. I was extremely overjoyed when we beat them at theirs, giving us the edge over them in head to heads. We will better them again this season, both in the head to heads and final league position.
  14. Spot on!!
  15. The 8 places thing doesn't quite do their situation justice; you forget to mention they are also a MASSIVE 1 point above it!!
  16. Once again, the Clot's words make no sense at all. As for Lawrence thinking us and Brighton will 'fizzle out' to drop below the Skates (which was the question he was answering) he is also clearly an idiot or was just trying to give the phew some desperate hope to cling to.
  17. I always liked Mario too, and am in the group that think he was under used by Burley. If memory serves me correctly, he appeared to be the stand-out player for two consecutive pre-seasons only to then not get in the team once the season started. Madness!!
  18. So Cloterril once again blames the refs for Poopy having so many bookings. Wot a Clot!!!
  19. Oh, how I would laugh if this hearing not only found in full favour of the Spuds but also proved that Azougy was acting as a director of the club and led to a huge fine and points deduction. I know the last bit won't happen, but I can dream!!!!
  20. Yep, Kezman is playing for BATE in the Champs League tonight. I'm watching it on TV now.
  21. I did something very similar except it was Easyjet Gatwick-Naples and I was only a day out. I had quite an arguement with the girl on the desk when she told me I wasn't booked on the flight, and then had to apologise profusely when she checked the following day's bookings and found my name there. Fortunately they had one place left on that flight as my GF was already in Italy, uncontactable at that time, and was going to collect me from the airport. It would have been very bad had I not been on the flight.
  22. Yes Corp, I am clutching at straws. That is, clutching at them thinking you could give a 'CREDIBLE' link to proof that PORTSMOUTH FOOTBALL CLUB (not others) had paid back ALL the monies they STOLE from NUMEROUS charities. And let's get this right, not even Lumpitt has said they have. He only mentioned the 3 MAIN charities. Still, good to see you didn't dispute the fact that AA and PFC have previous for submitting inaccurate documents to a court of law! DFCSBs
  23. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA........... Corpy thinks AA wouldn't lie in a legal document!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.............. It's not as if he has previous for this is it?? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA............... Now post a link from a 'credible' source saying all the charities have been paid! Also, show me a link to where it says PFC have made a 'donation' commensurate to the sum they owed but which someone else (the supporters) paid tp St. John Ambulance and I might start believing they are doing the right thing in regard to charities.
  24. Woot!!! Great to hear!!!!
  25. Going by your username, if you really are a Saint who lives abroad I would highly recommend that you subscribe. it is the only way to get commentary of every Saints match, plus you get to see highlights of all the matches and other good videos. As an ex-pat myself it (and this site) is a real lifeline which I would be lost without.
