I was watching a league of their own on sky the other day featuring Tiss and he said he had a block of flats named after him, any idea where these are?

Need some tickets for Albion away for me and a couple of others, trains are all booked but left it to late to buy the tickets. Will take adults, seniors, kids what ever you have boys and girls. Please contact dan_armstrong@hotmail.co.uk , thanks.

Would be gutted if we were called the Southampton Saints or something American like that. Wouldn't be surprised if we did jump on the "branding" bandwagon though, not like Cortese has valued any of our traditions and history in the past.

There will be between 50/100 out there as like all the European Pre season games in recent years. It seems very few people on this forum actually go to games though.

The best entrance music you've ever heard at a football game

Sheffield United always play 'you fill up my senses' when the game is about to start, sounds class as the PA starts it and the stadium is left to finish it off. -
A few of us have booked flights with Ryanair from Bournemouth to Girona, Friday the 19th of July to Sunday the 21st of July for the Palamos match. Long weekend in the sunshine, continental lager and Saints away. Still considering Celta Vigo, maybe looking at Flying Saturday to Monday to Porto from London Stansted for £160 then hiring a car as there isn't much in the way of public transport between the two. As for Austria I haven't really looked, been with England a couple of times in recent years so will more than likely swerve those matches. Try looking at flights to Klagenfurt or Ljubljana in Slovenia.

The first "proper" pre-season game predicion sweepstake thread

Sturm Graz away. -
How would you like it if Arsenal bought us a feeder team? Ridiculous idea.

Pretty sure nearly every club in the Premier league has announced their pre season plans. No idea, why we feel to announce everything at the latest possible opportunity. Hope they announce it soon and there are some reasonably priced flights to wherever we are playing.

If people want to support a marketing franchise thats up to them, but it shan't be for me. I'd support a breakaway club or Eastleigh.

Lets just remember what Red Bull did to poor old Salzburg.Granted they own the club, so its a bit different but I would hate anything like that to happen to Saints. http://www.footballfairground.com/2011/08/colours-clash-red-bull-and-austria.html

I must have voted about 15 times in the last few days. Surprised the Echo haven't picked this up yet, what with the piece they did on the Joiners struggling financially a few months back.

Played away there a few years ago. I went up, was only a friendly but seemed a fairly boring place.
-
Have been told were having a couple of matches in Austria.

Good effort this season buts its the first year buzz, happens to every club. If we can take 1500+ to the likes of Everton and Sunderland next season I will be impressed.

Anyone moaning they cant get a ticket to away games, take note. There are plenty of spares available for this one.

Interesting hearing about his time at Saints with Beatts. Always liked him when he was with us and it was a shame to see him go. Says on the video below, that despite playing for England the highlight of his career was playing for Saints the team he had always supported. The video should play without you having to be signed in or a user of Facebook.

The ones that stick out are; Burnley away first year in the championship, someone was almost thrown off the coach after pelting a Jammy Dodger at the driver. The 6-0 win over Wolves, purely for the result. Arriving into Manchester Piccadilly as Rochdale was cancelled and ending up in Bury for a FC United of Manchester match. The pub we were in before the game had people smoking pipes, the curtains shut and a laptop on the side that all the locals were using to gamble on. When we went to order drinks the bar woman's exact words were "Your not from round here are you." We also met an Irish fella who was visiting Bury on holiday. FC Sochaux v Saints in preseason in Freibourg, Switzerland 2010 I believe. The French side brought about 10 fans, saints around 30 so overall there were more players, coaches and officials than there was people watching. As the players were warming up we were able to have a kick about on the pitch, with no one really bothered. Before the game had even started we were just having a chat with all the players on the running track and the pitch.

Would have been game had I not booked a train back to Sheffield on the Sunday afternoon after Spurs.

Id try the Stoke end if I were you. Unlikely you will get three together in the home end now.

If you don't like a thread people, here's a thought don't post on it. But for the original poster, I get your thinking behind it, it makes sense. Me and a mate lumped on saints to stay up when we were bottom. I'm planning on doing this bet just to cover myself just incase!
