  3. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?51167-The-mess-we-re-in#.VKSPgX8gGSM The last line is pearler, when talking a out outgoing players and how gracious they are meant to have been "they'll remain classy as they were brought up "the Southampton way" the sad thing is there is way any more.":lol::lol:
  4. Les Reeds churchillian speech, the moment that United the club, that we knew everything would be okay and our club was safe in the hands of a powerful, charismatic and glorious leader.
  5. Shurlock is right. I happen to know about this one and few other Incomings at the time, he had the choice of us Burnley and another championship club whose name escapes me for now. He chose Burnley even though we offered him a bit more money and a big promotion bonus. Cortese was fuming as Adkins had been involved in the deal and he blamed Adkins for not securing the signing. This was the first cracks in their relationship and when Cortese decided that Adkins didn't have the profile in the game to attract major signings. He's also right about Billy Sharp, we tried to sign him in the summer before he eventually joined but Sharp turned us down at that point as his wife was due to give birth a few months later to Luis (RIP) being the top bloke he is he put family before a lucrative move at the time as he didn't want to uproot his family or be away from them at that time even though he wanted to join us.
  6. Resurrect the best thread ever, happy new year everyone. xxxx
  7. You have been missed. You are one of my best mongboard chums
  8. Always thought "We won it one time, we've won it one time, the Johnstons Paint Trophy, We've won it one time" Was the best version of that song, especially in response to the scousers singing the 5 times version for the European Cup.
  9. The problem with America is it's full of Americans.
  10. hey Clarky, how are you? I see you're still a prolific poster on here, wasn't that long ago you were saying you were looking forward to your membership expiring. What's changed, have you flipped like a burger??
  11. My routine and diet will continue as it always has. I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.
  12. I'm not sure why so many people are saying this is disappointing, I don't necessarily think he is the player for us but he's one of the best young players in the championship, what more are people expecting?
  13. Well im pretty sure we aren't being run by clowns who will pay whatever it costs to bring him in, spend two years training him up and them lose him for a token development fee as soon as he turns 18. I'm sure there will be a way of protecting our interests too.maybe our football manager experts can advise how they do it.
  14. That's all we need to know, come on SFC, get with It.
  15. Oh well.....
  16. Pelle signed pal.
  17. Do you not think maybe, just maybe our people might have thought about that and put some clause in the deal that is legally binding that he has to commit to a pro contract?
  18. You were right, He is English was born in Oldham, but think his dad is a jock. And yes it is the going rate, young, goal ratio better than one ever two game and contracted until 2019, so £12m seems about right whatever people bleat about him not being worth it. Actually just checked his dad isn't a jock either but an ex goalkeeper who played in Scotland and Jordan went to school there so eligible to play for them.
  19. No he wouldn't, even of he's absolutely brilliant and better than any other midfielder in the world he'd have litttle chance of breaking into our team ahead of the ones you mention.
  20. You mean we no longer want players who are young, hungry and guranteed to improve?
  21. Gareth Bale. Our fans still trot out that hilarious chant everytime a play goes down under a challenge
  22. Do you think we need a bigger ground?
  23. We were convienced Ramirez and OSvaldo would cut it in the premier league and look how that turned out, most signings are a gamble. You might not think he's worth £12m but that is how much players cost these days, your £4m figure is laughable. A young British player with an excellent record in the championship comes at a premium. He cost them £8m, has proven himself at championship level and has 4 1/2 years left on his contract. Like i said, imagine if it was one of our players being discussed like that, people would be going nuts.
  24. He is worth £12m give the current transfer market and his age. £11m for Ross McCorkmack??
  25. Absolutely laughable. Can you imagine the meltdown on here if Spurs were saying on their forums that Saints want £30m for Schniderlin but we'd take him for £10m? People would be going mental at how disgusting and deluded "Spuds" fans were.
