You can guarantee that a scouser particularly as well as Mancs, Londoners, Geordies will tell you where they are from without you asking, within minutes of meeting them by Jack Stephensing the name of their hometown into conversations. Southampton had the potential to be one of Europes great cities. Im not joking it's got it all. A great coastline, a history with a mix of modern and old, a decent climate relatively for the UK, a ready made tourist industry thanks to the cruise ships, an airport, an hour from London. Instead of that it's become a run down shit hole. I was back a few weeks ago for the first time in 3 years and it gets worse every time i come back, certainly kills any thoughts of ever moving back.
