Wasn't Rasmus the ideas guy, the sort of guy who works in marketing drawing diagrams on a whiteboard thinking he's a genius, then there was another guy whose name i forgot was the one that dismissed 99% of them and actually made stuff happen?

Reparatory justice for the transatlantic slave trade
Turkish replied to BARCELONASAINT's topic in The Lounge
As someone who descends from the Roman Empire rule i demand reparatory justice for the Roman slave trade. -
3 goals conceded is par these days, reckon we could easily concede double that to give the world wide TV audience some brilliant entertainment

match week 9 in the English Premier Soccerball league and it doesn't getting any more exciting than this one! a trip to Manchester to see the City of Manchester in their fantastic stadium. The great news for the Southampton Saints is that we get to watch our players perform against wonderful players which is everything us soccerball fans wanted when we achieved repromotion back to the worlds greatest league. Cannot wait to hear what Pep says pre match and i'll be there making sure i get close to the corner spot to get some truly great photos of the blues players taking corners and maybe they'll score a goal or two in front us for photos of them celebrating to add to the special memories. Come on the Saints of Southampton, lets put up a good fight and show those City players that we wont just accept out inevitable loss lying down!! If you cannot get excited by this match then maybe soccerball isn't for you!! Lets go Southampton Saints!!!

in line with our philosophy. I see this as great news long term. if he fails to keep us up this season if he gets up back up next season having failed this season he's likely to succeed next time round. #weloveafailure #dontfearfailure #itsnothowmanytimesyougethititshowmanytimesyougethitandkeepmovingforward

That is probably still the best Saints performance I’ve ever seen. We absolutely destroyed them it could easily have been 6 or 7. Rideout hit the bar from 30 yards at 0-0, he hit the post in the second half in front of the Milton where I was. they couldn’t cope with us. crazy team really Jason Dodd had only made his debut a few weeks earlier, up against John Barnes who was probably one of the best players in Europe at the time in his position, a young Benali at left back, Flowers in goal who had just taken over as full time glovesman from John Burridge. we had a very young shearer, Wallace and Le Tiss up front with rideout. If that was today they’d be worth £100m each. we had basically a load of young players plus Case, Cockerill and Russell Osman. I can’t remember who the other crntre back was that day, Neil Ruddock? Kevin Moore and him seemed to be one of those two alongside osman IIRC

I remember that cup game up there late 80s. It was on Bryan Robson, it was a foul no doubt but it was in the centre circle one of the most ridiculous sendings off ever but again it followed a rule change where professional fouls became a thing and it red cards were being dished out all over the place another shocker was 1996 fa cup at old Trafford. The DEF were leading 5000 Saints fans went up there on a a Monday night it was the first game the top tier of the new at old Trafford had been opened so it’s was the biggest crowd at old Trafford for many years. As usual we heroically failed played really, really well lost 0-2 but af 0-0 Neil Shipperly had a perfectly good goal disallowed for a push which never was. Still we took over a pub in Salford quays before he game and smashed the red army, men in black and cockney reds to cement our rep as a champions league level firm 👍

Bradford are on paper a bigger club than Bournemouth and Brentford. The City easy big enough to support a Championship club. the Bradford area is over 1/2 million I guess going against it is it’s a massive shit hole of a place, very high immigration, rife with gangs, drugs and crime and doesn’t have the football heritage other cities of a similar size have. An old mill town with very little going for it these days

Morcambe have always been a disaster waiting to happen giving the same manager to job 3 times in 6 years. That guys is Derek Adams in his third spell as manager after two pretty unremarkable previous stints. My mates son was in a first year pro contract at Bradford when he went there from Morcombe 3 years ago, Bradford had half a dozen decent players around 19-21 years old and he released some, told the rest they weren't part of his plans and brought in a load of old players he'd worked with before. After finishing 12th in league two he said something like he's the best manager around at this level despite all the fans and players thinking he's a massive cock. Given his record of failure and arrogance i'm pretty sure he's on Rasmus's radar.

you wanna try following Harrogate Town pal. Daddies boy Simon Weaver in his 15th season in charge. The smallest club in the football league, playing conference North 5 years ago midtable finish last season yet still fans moan about him
-
No other striker we've got scores the goal at Arsenal he got. His goal saturday Armstrong wouldn't have got a look in and Adams would have been on his heels on the edge of the box, looks a decent signing so far to me. Decent finisher with good movement, something we've not had for ages.
-
that's comforting to know. I remember is Cortese era we had a five year plan and because we got to the premier league in 3 we were a year ahead so relegation didn't matter when we started that season even worse than this one. We are 8 years ahead of plan here, all hail SR and the 10 year plan!
-
People dont seem to realise there is more than one league. It's not just about points at the end of the season. There are possession tables, XG tables, turnovers, touches inside your own penalty area, there are many, many more factors to soccerball than the meaningless stat of how many points you accumulate over an arbitrary period set by men in suits miles away. Who decided 38 games was a measure of success? In any case no one really wins that way anyway, at the start of the next season everyone is back to zero whereas a philosophy can last forever. No one mentions who topped the science class in Greece in 320 BC but they've talked about Aristotle forever.
-
You just don’t understand the philosophy do you?
-
We’ve conceded 3 goals in 5 of our 8 games this season. Unfortunately of the 3 games we’ve conceded less than 3, 2 of them were the first and second game of the season so I think the goals against column is going to look far worse if things carry on as they are.
-
Agreed. The only possible option was to replace him with Ryan Fraser.
-
is it one of Les Reeds secret dossier of managers we've been tracking for ages honestly we have it's just sheer coincidence they're all unemployed when we needed a manager
