Stoke overachieved with the players they had FACT England can't match Brazil, Spain and Germany for technical ability FACT We have consistently failed in tournaments FACT If we played with aggressive players we'd be horrible to play against FACT We won't beat any of the top teams playing them at their own game FACT We need to find another way FACT Plenty of FACTS pal.

big Ron Atkinson of course. Proper English manager who understands our mentality and knows how to upset them foreigners.
-
I always considered him potentially the English Tim Cahill. Andy Johnson would also be worth a go again as the quick little man to play off Carroll or Cole and pick up their flicks.
-
That's not how it works pal, you have to hate him and say he's a terrible clueless manager.
-
A couple of weeks ago a senior figure at QPR told me they have to go up this season or they are in big trouble Financially, he also said 'there is never a dull moment with him (Redknapp)' and rolled his eyes, I knew what he was getting at.

Carlton cole is a good target man and getting fit again, hcdajfu.

Do you not think stoke have punched above the ability of their squad the last few years? Regular midtable finishes, an FA cup final and Europe with average at best players. If you can't beat a team at their own game you have to find another way which stoke have done. Do you think we have the players to out pass the Germans, Spanish, Brazilians etc? Out constant failure in tournaments says not. So let's find another way, 11 lion hearts playing aggressive long ball football in a 4-4-2 with pacy wingers and a big man up top. Play to our strengths and what we do best. Forget this poncy stuff, build a side around hard men and wingers. Shawcross, catemole, noble, Kevin Nolan, Lennon, downing, Carroll etc. we'd be horrible to play against, bite in midfield, aggressive at the back and a big man who I a handful up top. and you never know we might emulate stoke at international level and punch above our weight too. The time for change is now and go back to basics and what were good at. Do you think those Chileans would have passed their way through cattermole and shawcross so easily if they'd been there? They'd have clattered then early doors to let them know they were there and they'd spend the rest of the match keeping away from them. FACT

Are you sure? I was visiting a mate In holland last season so went along with him and a few of his Ajax mates to see them pay at Willem II. He was awful, despite an easy win for Ajax I've not seen a slower winger since Lee Holmes, seemed to hate crosses more than Jesus as every time he got the ball wide and tried crossing it, it seemed to go out for a goal kick. Gave the ball away countless times, terrible first touch, His second touch was always a header as it seems to bounce off every part of his body and into the air! Missed an open goal and shot Into the side netting when a simple square ball was on for a teammate to stick it in the empty net. Looked awful for where I was and my mate and the Ajax lads agreed, said he reminded them of a poor mans Neil Heaney.

Rob green, 2010 World Cup.

Get 'em both. The pacy wideman and the good little 'en to play up top with Lambo.
-
Up top, feeding off Lambos flicks?

And there is the problem, MP has drilled that all through preseason and the week after week of the season. The players play together every day in training and work on it every day. International managers have 3-4 days to get their point across. This is why international managers will pick players that have played together before and that know each other's games, be that at international level or club level. You can't just throw 11 individuals together and expect them to perform, which is exactly what happened last night yet some on here seem to demand that.

I presume you are talking about Bale as surely you aren't saying that AOC was worth more than £12m and neither was Walcott in 2006 and was at the time the most expensive teenager in English football. as well as this neither have left Arsenal so no whopping cheque. Bale was a totally different player to the one that left us in 2007, he was a skinny lad that was playing at left back, he left spurs an attacking midfielder that roamed all over the pitch and was a strapping athlete. In addition to this we had no option to sell as we were struggling financially at the time. To say spurs did nothing to develop his talent is nonsense.
-
Just had a look on there and some fella called MellaG was really talking up their chances of winning the World Cup, said their squad was good enough to target winning it but would settle for getting knocked out in the 2nd round.
-
Why he keeps getting picked is beyond me, I'm not one of those bandwagon jumpers on the Cleverly/Wellbeck/Baines/Wiltshire etc are sh*t but there are three players who have been England regulars in the last few years that I've never got why and they are Johnson, Milner and Barry. So overrated its untrue.

That'll be the job of Shawcross, Cattermole and Noble. Get an early crunching tackle in and those dwarf dagos won't want to know. You've got a strong aggressive spine there and two good DMs who know how to tackle. No one will fancy playing us with those 3 in the side, then get the ball they give the ball to the pacy wingers who can get down the flanks and we've got a big man god in the air to win the long balls forward, we all know thee foreigners can't defend against a good fashioned old up and under into the mixer.
-
You got it Jamie. We've got some good options and depth out wide too, want with Downing, Young, pennant and someone who's never been linked with an England call up who could do a job, Matthew Etherington.

All I'm saying is pal that England have tried and failed to play like these fancy continentals, so the only way we are gonna do anything we need to play to our strengths. And that is a caged lion mentality, 4-4-2 how all our boys have been coached since they were 6, a couple of pacy wingers and a strong, aggressive spine to scare the sh*t out of these midget dagos trying to play neat football. We don't have the technically gifted players like the Dagos, wops and krauts do so let's be aggressive, get it foooooooooorward early, Into the mixer and do what we are good at and stop trying to be something we are never going to be.
-
England can't play this fancy continental style like the krauts and dago. we should stick to what were good at and that means 4-4-2 with a a couple of pacy widemen and a good big man up top with a good little 'en picking up his flick ons. We need to stop fannying about with it at the back and get it Foooooorwarrrrrrrd into the mixer as quickly as possible. We need to have a couple of nasty basta*ds in midfield to win the ball back and then let our wingers have a go at the full backs! Get to the byline and whip crosses in. The more time the ball is in their penalty area and in the air the less time they'll have on the ball. And forget these fancy centre halves who try stroking it around in between stroking their hair, we need a couple of good old fanshioned caged tigers At the back to clatter these fancy poncey foreigners early so they don't go near them the rest of the game. This would be my England team and is build a squad around this lot. -------------Hart Johnson--Shawcross---Turner--Baines Lennon--Cattermole--Noble-----Adam Johnson -----Carrroll-----Defoe Play to our strengths, don't try and be like these Johnny foreigners,
-
As it stands, do we have a better team than ENGLAND?
Turkish replied to Glasgow_Saint's topic in The Saints
I see you've let the best english players there play for their saints, if they played for England then it might be a bit more even. --------Hart Clyne-Cahill-Jagielka-Shaw -----Gerard----Wilshire Walcott--Lallana---Rodriguez ----------Lambert V -------Boruc Chambers-Lovern-Fonte-Fox -----Wanyama--Schiniderlin Guly-----Davis----Ramirez -----------Osvaldo With those teams can see England holding us to a draw. -
To get his confidence and belief he belongs there, the Rodriguez we saw in March was a totally different player to the one that played against Man City on the opening day.

Don't disagree about Jay, it took him half a season to get used to being a premier league player, will he get the opportunity though. That's the problem.
