  1. I think you maybe right actually. He was at Norwich and we signed him in the Jan and then released him in the summer.
  2. Neil Trottman and John Otsemebor were a short term fix under Pardew.
  3. We signed Perry on loan then put him on a year contract the following season. Lucketti was on loan, he was had Christian Dailly that season as well. Also Vincent Pericard up front, no wonder we struggled!
  4. Yep. It's become a forum deviod of any fun and banter, people just seem to want to to be a place for a mutal backslapping as to how great everything is and telling anyone who will listen how wonderful SFC are. Jimmy D is back on his crusade against me too. Got another infraction from him over the weekend for not obeying his command immediately.
  5. He's very strange isn't he, just seems to keep on making things up. Anyway, on this very thread i said that with 3-4 quality additons then top 10 is very achievable. That's assuming we keep Boruc too. So not sure what NickG is on about. For this current squad with no additons to finish top half you are going to need all of our key players to stay fit and in form for the whole season, not going to happen. Our first XI is decent when everyone is fit and in form like they are now but beneath that we dont have much strength in depth and it's all pretty much of a muchness. We only really have two decent central midfielders, I dont think any of our 4 centre backs would get into any team above 15th (maybe Yoshida at a push), I still dont think we should be relying on Shaw to play week in week out, we have no real natural wide players for the 2 wide attacking roles. We are 4 players away from being a top 10 squad, so not a million miles away but not there yet.
  6. where did i dismiss a top 12 finish? quote me please.
  7. Yawn. Another one getting it totally wrong, you're the one looking silly constantly misquoting what i actually said to make your silly little stats, predictions and form guides a little less pointless. edit - just seen you are now making things up on the other thread that i dimissed our prospects of finishing in the top 12.
  8. correct, i should have replied to this one as well. Talking about me in a completely unrelated post. Good work.
  9. i didn't realise that Eterna also make hand dryers as well. they had them in the bar i was in the other day. I obviously hang out in the classiest establishments.
  10. Im not condoning it. But having seen loads of photos and about 10 different clips, some of them on youtube filmed by people inside the ground it just doesn't seem to be anywhere near as bad as is being made out and the reaction has been hysterical. Seen far, far worse over the years. I guess because of the occasion and it's so rare to see any actual fighting inside grounds these days that it's been blown up.
  11. Am i alone in thinking it wasn't anywhere near as bad as the media made it out and the hysterical tart reactions everywhere that seems to have become fashionable?
  12. The hilarious thing about a lot of the mugs on here is that if you give an opinion, in this case, it was and still is my opinion that we wont finish 10th. The dinlows immediately claim you've said its impossible, that it cant be done and there is a hysterical reaction like there has been that someone dare say that red hot unstoppable Saints might not finish 10th, a positon we haven't been in all season but some feel it is our destiny and god given right to. we wont finish 10th, we wont go down. No, im not being quiet about it.
  13. What a shame you have to act like a knob and can't see past your agenda against me on what is a serious and interesting thread. Says more about you than it does about me I'm afraid.
  14. Yeah, so what? I'm sure Alan Woodford was lauded then much more so than Askham and even Cortese is now. Woodford woooh ohhhh He comes from near Eastleigh He f*cking hates Pompey etc etc
  15. more importantly i wonder if the 6 staff taken off their normal duties to find it have resumed their usual roles yet.
  16. Yet your first one on posting on this thread, asking Saints fans what they were doing on this day in history, is to whinge that it isn't saints related.
  17. Good to see that your first thoughts on the anniversary of arguably the biggest tragedy in Engish football is following forum protocol.
  18. Back in 1989/90 season Saints were in a great form, a team full of young players like Le Tissier, Shearer, Rod Wallace, Tim Flowers, Jason Dodd. We were playing excellent football and scoring loads of goals. We'd had a decent cup run with a great away win at Spurs and been unlucky to draw Liverpool away in the 5th round who were the top side and unfortunately got knocked out. Despite that we were pushing for our highest finish since 1985 and the future looked bright. My first thoughts after most games in those days was to write into the paper version of the Ugly Inside and On The March fanzines prasing Guy Askham and talking about what a great chairman he was and how i wouldn't want anyone else at the helm. Because that's how it was back then. We praised the chairman and talked about him all the time, not the players they were just employees paid to do a job, it was all about great chairmanship.
  19. Where were you? I was at a friends of the families wedding. we went to the car to get the half time scores and head the first reports breaking that people had died at Hillsborough. The radio reported it was 5 at that point with no real understanding or explanation of what had gone on, just that there had been some sort of trouble. Remember it all so clearly even though i was only 12 at the time. It wasn't until we got home that evening that we realised what had gone on when seeing it on the news.
  20. as usual Frank you fail to understand and spectacularly get it wrong, but this shouldn't surprise us, it's par the course these days isn't it. In your eageress totype and type and type and type you miss the entire theme of the post and most of the responses. Take a step back, Read the post and comprehend what people are saying. I dont think a single person has said that simply sitting next to someone that supports the opposition means you deserve to get at the very least, a giant foam hand slapped round your cannister. It's the acting up, goading and winding up of home fans whilst in their end, usually after celebrating a goal in a provocative manner that causes the problems, which is exactly how the people who witnessed the event described it. The saddest thing is you dont seem to be able to comprehend the difference.
  21. Like Dagenham and Redbridge but with good strikers, yes?
  22. Quite, if Rugby is so amazing why dont they f*ck off there instead.
  23. Good point, a country threatening war on another country is exactly the same as a few idiots on a football forum saying a player isn't worth the money.
