Very, very well said. Pretty much sums up my views on everything perfectly.
-
Spade face or The Romsey Retard as he is affectionately known.
-
He's another labelled with the 'terrible manager' tag on here because people don't like him and he never took Birmingham Wigan or Sunderland into the champions league.
-
Why would we sell to one of our champions league rivals?
-
That part is the only bit that is true, apart from Dubai Phil talking sh*t of course.
-
This story is not true.
-
Maybe he was and personally i started to wonder this a few games into the season, however the guy got us two promotions and we were 15th when he was fired, making the club millions on the way, he did eveything that was asked of him and then some. In many ways he was a victim of his own success. Had we done what was expected of us in the championship and consolidate the first season and push on the second then he might well have grown with us. It probably was the right decison but the way it was done and then to not even give him a word of thanks was a disgrace.

And in 2013 WBA finished 8th, Swansea finished top half. Where were they in 2004? As for your hilarious dismissal of Arsenal winning the league, this would be the skin flint policy which saw them win the league with Dennis Berkamp, Tierry Henry, Patrick Viera, Freddie lujenburg, Robert Pires, Sol Campbell and Ashley Cole all in their prime. I wish we had that skin flint policy.

I don't like the bloke, but I think he's been very successful at some smaller clubs. Credit where it's due, that's all. How many other British managers have been as consistently successful with clubs of that size in the last 20 years?
-
Wouldn't you say Newcastles was down to having 3 managers in a year in Keegan, Kinear and Shearer? We know from experience how that pans out. As for Blackburn he left them when they were 13th. Ask Blackburn fans what they think of Steve Keen, who funnily enough was the man to take them to the next level and was talking about champions league football the season they went down.
-
Fat Sam didn't have one of the highest transfer budgets in Europe when he was at Bolton, so we aren't comparing like for like.
-
Oh right so we discredit his achievements there because using pure speculation 10 years on we think he might not have done as well. Do you hold this view on McMemenemy? How about busby? Shankley? Are we to write off what they did because the game has moved on since then?
-
Newcastle were midtable when they fired him, they were relegated the following season Blackburn were midtable when they fired him, they too were relegated the following season. He took west ham up at the first attempt and they finished midtable last season above us and were never in any danger of going down. What exactly were you expecting from them?
-
I wouldn't want him here either but you can't argue with his record. He's not an international manager or one for a big but because he's a bit of a knob and people don't like the way his teams play he's dismissed as a terrible manager. Do you really think he'd have had the success he had at Bolton by trying to get limited players and a limited budget play sparkling champagne football? Strachan is viewed as a hero by some here and achieved far less. We hardly played sparkling football under him, it was all about work rate, tempo and fitness.

6th, not 5th apologies. Top 8 for 4 consecutive seasons. More than we've ever done in the premier league.

Well on this thread alone Jamie and Kelvinsrightglove went into meltdown on the day Adkins was sacked, yet now describe it as "par the course" and "that's football" so yes, those two do have short memories. They won't be alone as 99% of the people who posted on the day he was fired were outraged and said it was a disgrace.
-
That was Dull days, Brett from Camden thinks differently,
-
Will you for for one. Read your own edit, "its par the course" "they know what they're getting themselves into" "pros and cons innit" I've also just read your reaction on the thread chalet linked 'f*ck football I'm done' Like I said, short memories.
-
Well its good to see that our fans are happy to see the club shaft their own employees and popular football staff. Short memories.
-
How far can that way of playing get you? If we finished 5th and got into Europe and a cup final like he did at Bolton what would be your view on the manager that got us there?
-
Why not? He was progressing his career, surely he did it the right way to get his move?
-
Okay, so you're happy to trample all over people in the name of progress. Presumably you were chuffed for Kenwyne jones when he got his big move to Sunderland after he went on strike. He was progressing his career wasn't he.
-
And your view on his treatment?
-
Answer the question, do you condone it or so you think it was acceptable for the club to treat a popular and successful employee like that?
