Take out penalties and it's not really that impressive though.

I would. I am outraged. I just hopes if its one of our young and hungry players they don't lose their hunger otherwise they might not be guaranteed to improve.
-
You reckon?
-
We should have got Antonio back as well. He'd have torn this league apart and is much better than Puncheon.
-
I went out there earlier and it's a scary place let me tell you. Was glad to be back behind my keyboard.

Add Reading to that list too and I'd say Newcastles is worth at least what ours is probably more. So straight away we value our squad as more than bottom 3. How much would West Ham and QPR get for their players if they wanted to sell them? Can't think of too many of their players that have a large market value. Most of them seem to be older with little sell on value. Apart from a few obvious exceptions like Tarabit at QPR and Tomkins, Jarvis, Noble and Collison at West Ham.

Ultimately, it means f^=* all though. There are so many more factors to take into account than a few formulas typed into a computer. That's the trouble with internet people, too much time looking at Stats and formulas, not enough time living in the real world.

Anyone could say anything though couldn't they. If I was doing that study I'd say arguably Shaw, Lallana, Schniderlin and Ramirez are worth over £10m each, Rodriguez, Cork, Clyne £6m each and we are already at Nick Gs £62m figure from 7 players. Which proves that some squad valuation from someone most people have never heard of mean f*ck all.
-
Like who?
-
What does a £12m look like these days?
-
It wasn't a L1 squad though was it. 5 of that squad are now more than holding their own in the premier league. Davis, Chaplow, Harding, Hammond, Connolly, Richarson, Butterfield, Guly and Jaidi had all played at or are now playing at a higher level than L1 and Chamberlain was sold to a top 4 premier league club for £12m. No amount of banging on about it being a L1 squad are going to change that. It was playing in L1 but it wasn't a L1 standard squad. And you've again ignored the fact that we've spent £20m on 10 players since promtion who can't get in the side at the moment. But then facts don't seem to matter when you can call on independent squad valuations which is probably some Internet person deciding what he thinks players are worth. Keep relying on this though and repeating to yourself we have a L1 squad.
-
Bang on. Not only not seen him play, not even heard of him.
-
I didnt say the last bit.
-
Didnt he often play as a winger for Bologna?
-
I note you have failed to answer if you think Fonte, Puncheon, Lambert, Lallana and Schindelin are premier league standard players or not. Also fail to answer that we have signed £20m worth of players since promotion from L1 who aren't first choice players.

Didn't you expect it though. This is the Internet, Internet people seem to think a player that costs a certain amount has to have a set amount of ability, the same goes for Rodriguez and they have to show that ability EVERY week. After about 10 Premeir league games each Internet people are asking if they are living up to price tag. well the price is the price. In the real world £12m doesn't get you +15 attributes in pacing, shooting, pace and vision and 12s in strength, mentality, crossing and dribbling. Well they are living up to the price because the price is the price and those of us that understand the game knows a player with potential won't be brilliant every week. Of course, the arguement that would £19m have been better spent on experienced players who can hit the ground running straight away is another argument.

You have to say with the fantastic facilities we have here, the superb sports science department, the unbelievable coaching, the ambiton of the chairman and all of this overseen by Les Reed, the man who once wrote the coaching manual for England, there isn't a better club for him to be at right now.
-
Fascinating insight Andy, thanks.
-
Do we know if they've got any injuries? If we know they have we should win easily.
-
Was it? Just looked to me like an honest attempt to win a 50/50 ball and Shaw came off worst.
-
He could at least have worn some decent Trainers.
-
This is bound to be true. All the London clubs will throw games against them as to keep them in the premier league. Chelsea certainly did this and Spurs played for a draw as neither of them need the points for their own champions league challenge as they'd rather play QPR twice a season.
-
The point being, quite clearly, that people are claiming our league position is due to half of our team being L1 players. When it is in fact a FACT we've spent the thick end of nearly £20m on players since promotion from L1 none of which are good enough to get into our current side at the moment. P*sses all over Nick G and his mates foot stamping 'we've got a league one side' mantra they are now trotting out.

We need to drop him, especially away from home and give Chaplow a run out for it more bite in midfield.
