5 points above it at the moment young Matthew.

The constant chopping and changing doesn't help either. We've used 3 goalkeepers, 3 different left and right backs and 3 centre halves in 9 league games and it's difficult to make a case for more than a couple of them being of the standard needed. I know we've had injuries and there's not much you can do about that but you need a settled back 4 and good communication and awareness between them and a goalkeeper. This won't happen when the personnel keeps changing.

Correct, Gary Crosby was a winger for Notts Forest. I'm not surprised he knows nothing about defending!
-
Andy Crosby is a former centre halfist. You'd think he'd be able to drill a defence.

De Ridder and Antonio both had pace. A classic example of how players with pace can deceive people into thinking they are actually any good. Remember th hero worship given to De Ridder when he arrived, despite the fact that he is an average championship player. When it was pointed out this time last year anyone that dare say he wasn't amazing was told they were wrong and they couldn't beleive Nige wasn't playing him more, over the course of the season it became apparent why that was.

NME dubbed him that I believe as a lot of the Brit Pop and Indie bands of the early and mid nineties credited Welller with a big influence on their style of music. Like all great bands and songwriters no doubt Weller was influenced by bands that he listened too growing up, that's no bad thing. Name me one person who isn't influenced by others. He took took that and created one of the greatest bands in history with that influence and some brilliant lyrics.

Blackburn won at Old Trafford last season. Wigan won at Arsenal. These might have be deemed an easy game for Man U and Arsenal but it was proven not to be. Les Bender, as usual, proving he talks a lot of nonsense.
-
We now have a run of 8 games where 6 of them are very winnable. We should be looking to get around 11-12 points from these.

There is only any point having pace if they can play as well.

Adkins Interview On Whether The Club have Given Him Any Assurances
Turkish replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
Conspiracy theories number 2939932 - Cortese wants Adkins to resign.... Considering Adkins body language and comments he looks like dead man walking, however if he is sacked Cortese will have to negotiate a settlement with him. if he resigns then Adkins will likely have to forefit this. As Cortese tried to make Adkins resign from S****horpe to avoid paying them compensation then maybe Cortese is trying to play this card on Adkins again and force him to resign by making his job as difficult as possible to succeed in. -
Do you think if he's not be brilliant for 2 games then people will say they aren't convinced by him and we should bring back guly?
-
Really? I think Yoshida has been head and shoulders our best centre back. Not that that is saying much mind.
-
Yep i agree with that.

We need to get results. Sums it up i think. We not be drawn on if Cortese had backed him or not. -
I suppose it might be different if you lived in another country. For example if i moved to Naples i'd probably go and see Napoli most weeks, or Glasgow with Rangers. I guess then that might understandable for people who live there to have divided loyalty. I guess you couldn't help it being immersed in the culture of the club and city everyday. What i dont get are these people that support two teams. I met a lad on holiday who was a Chelsea and Norwich fan. He was a Norwich fan but when he was a teenager decided he needed to support a premier league team so chose Chelsea and now supports both. My first thought when he said that was "knob" i was right, he was. A lot of people at work in Reading support Reading and someone else, Liverpool, in a lot of cases. I find this very odd.

Forza Napoli Roma, Roma vafanculo!

I like a few other teams. Nottingham Forest, Man United, Millwall, Rangers, AC Milan, Barcelona, Bilbao, Fiorentina and Napoli. As in i would want them to win if i happened to see them play or might look at their results on a monday morning. They aren't my second team though. Having a second team is like having a wife and a mistress.
-
nothing says i know f*ck all about football than someone who says "and my second team is ............"
-
That's A'more, always reminds me of Cortese.

Plus as they are by far the biggest club in Holland they have the pick of all the best players. Isn't the rule for young foreign players different over there too? I seem to remember that they could sign young african players much more easily than English clubs could.

thats a very good side. TBF

I seem to recall a lot of moaning about him saying he was too lightweight and form dipped after a good start and so on. Personally i think Cork and Morgan make a good pair, difficult to say who is the better player as they both bring a lot to the table and he's been a big loss.
-
Didnt a lot of people think Cork was sh*te last season?

I'm proud when I see them play for Saints. I'm not proud when i see them play for other teams and wonder what might have been. Once they leave them mean nothing to me, just another player who thought they were better off elsewhere. I remember Jamie Redknapps comments last season talking about the Arsenal v Spurs game which he described as a "good dsy for Southampton" because 3 players on the pitch played for us once. How is it s good day for Southampton? Yeah, it's great we produce great players, it's only great if they play for us. Was I overjoyed that Blackburn won the league with 3 players who stated life at Saints? No I couldn't give a toss. Same as when i see Bale, Chamberlian or Walcott playing for England or in the champions league. Just players playing for clubs I don't really care about.
